In the 2nd CEA Terminal, Spark says that he was required to forget and ignore everything about his previous responsibilities. Does anyone know or have any idea what these responsibilities might have been? Not only for Spark but for any Moniter that became an Installation Moniter?

We know that Spark oversaw the gas-mine on Threshold before being the Moniter of Installation 04. Other terminals suggest he fought the Flood in some manner.
To me, it very much seems like he was once a living being, turned into an AI.

What? Ive never read this anywhere. Source please.
And the impression i got it that spark actaully was a forerunner who volunteered to be made into an ancilla to watch over the ring. He mentions having to forget about his old life which is easy because what once was can never be again (his organic body), and in another terminal, he mentions being bored and being surprised at this because he was promised an end to vexations such as that, or words to that effect.

He said so in Halo 2. He noted that he oversaw the gas mine’s conversion from a gas mine to a facility to study the flood.
He was Halo’s plumber DUH

Oh. I dont think that implies that hanging around a gas mine in the back end of nowhere was his old job though. He is a forerunner monitor, that sort of thing is a bit beneath him.

If you play the section where you kill the Heretic Leader, Guilty Spark talks about how he was involved in the design/creation of the High Altitude Suspension Grid and the hanging Gas Mine-turned-Flood Lab in Threshold’s atmosphere centuries before Alpha Halo was there in orbit.

Very interesting. Sounds like something done in a previous life perhaps, such as before he was made into a monitor.

What do you mean ‘previous life’? It’s not like it was ‘born again’…
Johnny 5’s agent.

I kinda do think being stripped of your flesh an made into a floating orb would be rather like a rebirth, yeah

Umm, when is it ever stated that the monitors were living?
Its my theory. Read the thread.
Dude, Spark is just a Forerunner ancilla in a robotic shell.
