Spam jumpers - gotta go

Its not the jumping that is the problem. It’s the crouch spam. It’s instant, and can be done like some instant transmission animation. There is no head bob, and it’s easily fast and spammable. It distorts the hitbox so bad.

I am all for strafes and ghandi hops, and all that… but the way crouching is in infinite is abysmal. I refer to my previous post. I’ve tested it in customs. Also R6S had a similar issue. It needs to be addressed.

My favourite part of this post is that jumping mid combat is typically a disadvantage for the jumper since their movement trajectory is more or less fixed, which makes it easier to hit. So OP is complaining about a bad strategy being too overpowered :joy:

Yeah it’s not as good as it was in Halo 3. Even the controller aim assist can track it without me having to use my thumb. It’s really easy just follow the arch of where somebody is going to land. Unfortunately, doing something for 20 years kind of nails it into your brain, so it’s a habit for me whether it’s useful or not in Infinite. I never see people Gandhi hopping in Infinite so I can’t actually confirm if it’s good like 3 either. I’m not seeing any YouTube videos of it. Between the ping lag, netcode, and hit registration, I don’t think it would matter that much anyway. I don’t think the server would even be sending out your crouch jump spamming fast enough, and to other people you might look like you’re just not doing anything other than jumping

It’s the strafe crouching that’s busted mainly. Get a friend and go to customs. It’s an instant movement from standing to crouch (there isn’t much of an animation) and it’s very spammable. Macro it and it becomes real bad. It distorts the hitbox. There is no midline for their head to be when crouch spamming as well. It’s just wild this past the dev team during beta testing.

I maintain an accuracy for 62-65% and you know it’s a problem when you aren’t landing anything. I have to use it back so I don’t get slapped. It’s something that needs to be fixed. It makes gunfights bogged until a teammate comes.

You should see the video on crouch spamming on R6S to see what I am talking about. It’s the same thing happening here, but worse.

I haven’t seen anyone do it successfully. I’ve seen people do slow crouching, but I just found this clip of someone crouch spamming and the game netcode just not registering his inputs fast enough so he floats crouched

If you have a good video clip link, I’ll check it out

I haven’t seen a good videon about it on infinite yet, but this sums it up via the other game I mentioned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyfDjtXXhPo

So if Infinite works similarly to R6S, then the clip I sent of the crouch spammer not having any animation just shows he spammed himself stable, which is bad, and he was killed for it. Crouch spamming doesn’t seem to work on laggy Halo Infinite servers. You have to do it slower to be useful.

Welcome to Halo, COD player, learn how the game works.

Ok…now I see where that’s exploitable
Lol

you sure he’s not sliding?

Honestly I’d say crouch spamming into having no animation is the worst thing you could do to yourself. You can very easily track their head. They played themself.

@Spyra2005 Pretty sure he is using a macro to spam crouch, but while he is doing it fast on his screen, the server netcode is garbage and slow, so everyone else sees him stuck in between animations.

The main issue is the hitbox. I don’t see people being stable on my end with it. Could be the servers with that for sure. Regardless it should be fixed.

In High diamond and onyx play this gets real outta hand, real fast. Everyone is thumper from bambi, making matches just miserable to play. If you don’t exploit this and always have 1-2 people with you, then you will die ez 100%.

The bad netcode lag is making me think Gandhi hopping honestly will also look like stuck animation normal jumping. Ranked servers might have slightly more stable servers if you’re doing restricted input and device, but when it comes to crossplay, the netcode and hit registration is garbage. If you play Ranked, maybe that’s why you can actually see it spamming correctly. Less difficulty for the server to translate between devices and inputs. Idk. Until 343 tells us what’s going on in their spaghetti code, we can’t prove anything. The Blam engine being molded all the way into the Slipspace engine has brought countless bugs and issues for them, so I expect you’ll be dealing with crouch spammers for another 3 years.

ever heard of bunny jumping?
also have you never played a halo game? people jump at a constant to through off the aiming of the opponent. adding a second or two limitation to jumping would be totally annoying

Lol I know, but tuning that macro would make it nuts.

You mean crouch-spamming? I’ve never see anyone spam-jumping in Halo. There is however something called “Gandhi-hopping” where you spam crouch while your character is in the air, which is a little trick to throw off people’s aim.

This ain’t cod, we don’t want our boots on the ground.

I’m starting to see more players spam killing (constant killing). This is super annoying and is a no skill advantage. This needs to go, or just put a limitation on it. Like you have to wait one or two seconds between kills if running.
