Spam army vs. Comp army

Which one would win? Not asking which is “better”. Which one would win. Cuz 120 pop of air is doing amazing against comp armies.

Build 40 or 50 pop of AA with core vehicles will destroy air spam.

What is happening in all these games that you guys are allowing people to mass 120 pop of air? Things are going wrong long before they roll over your bases with fully upgraded 120 pop of the most expensive units in the game. Chances are that they could do much the same with any comp, air is just the go to when uncontested as it requires next to no skill to use and has high mobility.

This is half right - if it’s 1v1, yes it is the players fault for not attacking sooner.

3v3 randoms? You can’t single handedly attack one player early without the other two
coming to their aid. So, issue rolls right back round to coordinated va uncoordinated teams…

3 armies should handle 2 armies if one is massing banshees/hornets, no excuse…

This is my biggest issue, Ill admit sometimes I am one of the slow “not attacking” players, but as someone who tries not to spam air and actually mains vehicles and infantry, it can be hard to stop someone from going all air and let me say, it hits hard.

That is assuming someone on your team isn’t doing the same… though that would also be a weak excuse. In truth, not everyone on a team moves at the same speed, so that person may not have anyone else to really help them in the early game fighting. Some leaders also handle early way better than others… cough Colony…

120 pop thick hide marauders are going to give you just as much issue as 120 pop banshees, if not more. You shouldn’t be trying to fight pure core unit spam with a “little bit of everything” army. You doing that is projecting what you think an ideal army should be and not appropriately reacting to the threat. There are maps where Air performs very well, and there are maps where it doesn’t. there is no one size fits all army comp. If you sit on your hands for 15 minutes while your opponent does what ever he wants because “I don’t like rushing” then you are at your opponents mercy.

Once again, I’ve tried that dozens of times only for it to end in failure unless. Whatever you think works, I’ve tried countless times. A full pop of air will NEVER lose to anything unless the spammer has no idea what they’re doing.

Full pop Sentinels beat just about everything. Below you’ll find a link to a video demonstrating this. It takes full pop Reaver AND excellent micro to beat full pop Sentinels. Core air units are another story, but Sentinels are insane. Let’s not forget, in a real game, the Anders player would have many Siege Turrets backing up their Sentinels, giving the AA an even harder time.

Counter units should beat their acounter by a ratio of about 1.5 - 2.0, depending on cost difference, unit type, and a few other variables.

I was assuming he spoke of core air spam. Sents are OP but they are the slowest built air in the game so it should never be a huge issue unless your already losing or failed to deal with them before they get massed at critical levels.

You can kill the person’s base if you have a nice rush army build which takes every ounce of map resources and micro to get a decent army build to wipe a base in 5 minutes or less. it sets you and that person you are attacking back a good bit even if the other two players come back to assist.

I’ve pulled this off a few times only with the Arbiter, but its very sacrificial in a way so you make sure the job is done.

Happens to the best of us.

Never disregard what upgrading AA does. Ungraded reavers perform extremely well. I may be mistaken but I believe this is due to the damge boost affecting the damage done in its AOE.
