I think a great idea for a new Warzone map in the future would be a space setting. This could be a large asteroid or a space station/space dock. Personally I think the asteroid and space station ideas would be best. Either of these would add a new setting and add extra variety to Warzone maps in the future and I think both could eventually be used. For an asteroid you could have a large outside area exposed to space, and tunnels/caves that run underneath the map or through large rock outcroppings. Rock outcroppings of varying shapes and sizes would add cover points to the map, the tunnels and caves an alternate route/strategic area outside of the reach of long range snipers. For bases the garage/fortress could be a main storage facility for mining materials and resources while the armories would become drill installations that mine minerals from the asteroid itself. The cores could be large generator rooms that power the drilling installations and storage facility underlining their importance as the main base. The space station would have these same points but with a different environment. Your outside area would be exposed to space of course, with open and close quarters areas. The main, open area would be the outside area that could be used for docking small ships. Instead of a garage you could have a single-ship fighter repair bay. The armories could be weapon depots, and the cores could be refueling stations/power plants underlining their importance as a main base. For close quarters you could have service tunnels that are underneath parts of the map (sort of like the short tunnels on noctus) and hallways/observation rooms along the side that add an extra route/strategic area out of the sight of long range snipers (like the side tunnel on march on stormbreak). The backdrop/sky for the asteroid could be in orbit around a planet/ring installation or in an asteroid belt, the space station/dock’s could be in the orbit of a planet/ring as well or in the middle of a UNSC fleet. Both would be a good opportunity to give the bases a new look and can be slimmed down for a Warzone assault map to go with it. I believe this would not only add variety to the Warzone maps, but would be fun settings for combat for the players.
That would be cool. I’d be down for a Space themed Warzone map. You had some good suggestions.
Sounds like a cool idea but at this point I’m sure they already have the ideas/concepts in place for their remaining maps to be added. I hope one like this is included though
That sounds sweet. Maybe take the concept of Anchor 9 from Reach and make it work for warzone?
Yeah, this would be pretty cool to add some more variety to Warzone. Maybe a Warzone Assault variant would have space battles like the ones in Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
And you wouldn’t have to worry about floating off in the outside section of the space station because apparently we have magnetic boots ( sorry just got to mission 13 on solo legendary) i like these ideas
This would also allow for specific vehicles that spawn on the map such as broadswords and pelicans due to the large skybox.
There are two forms a Warzone map could take on in Space: An enclosed Space Station or Vessel, or a cluster of Asteroids. The only problem I see with both regards Banshees and Phaetons: How do you make an enclosed Space vessel with enough open space to complement Air Vehicles, without making it impossibly large, and how do you indicate the boundaries on an open map like an Asteroid? I would love to see a space Warzone map, but there are some obstacles that may prove difficult to overcome.

Doesn’t have to be enclosed at all really, entombed isn’t enclosed at all and the boundary wouldn’t be a problem because if you wander too high/far you get the 10 second warning instead of just exploding. And the asteroid doesn’t need to be in clusters, asteroids can be gigantic, large enough to fit cities on; we’ve had more than one nearly the size of texas almost hit earth in the last decade.

Thanks, I’ve always loved space sci-fi, one of the things that drew me to Halo when the first game came out years ago.

I hope it’s an idea thats included too. And you can never have too many maps

like the water wall on escape from A.R.C. they could do a hunger games type thing and put a dome around the area and allow the ai banshee and phaeton to pass through the field
With a big, open-aired space map people would just be complaining that they do not receive enough Banshee/Phaeton reqs. If the map was made it should not be too reliant on air combat to make the matches enjoyable/fun. The Banshee and Phaeton req cards are special and should not be earned easily. Therefore, as like all maps, it would need to have a good balance for (all types of) vehicle combat

No it shouldn’t be reliant on air vehicles. Thats why I had said the main body of the map would be open, not just in the sense of air but a large ground space for vehicles, sniping etc… like you see on the other maps, an close quarters areas like you see on the other maps. With a space station/dock thats completely possible because if your servicing small spaceships and not just single-ship fighters you would need alot of space for docking, maintenance and the vehicles that would move your materials. So there would be plenty of space for other types of vehicles and combat. Same for the asteroid as I had said to someone earlier you don’t even need multiple asteroids, we have found asteroids the size of states so it would be pretty easy to accomodate grounds vehicles and the like.
Don’t know how they could do that but it’s a cool idea.

Wouldn’t be that difficult. They’ve already done maps on asteroid surfaces, just look at Entombed. And 343 has textured space stations before in Halo Reach, 4 and 5
How about lots of areas for standard warfare, and also many areas that are in space, so the outside area would have low gravity (Kinda like the area in the Corvette from Reach) It has shield doors to get land vehicles in and out, and elevated shields for Banshees and Phaetons. These elevated doors also has man-cannons on the inside for infantry to get launched out. This map can have 2 armories on the outside, 2? Garages on the inside, and possibly a middle Fortress/Spire/Monument. So that it has 5 capture points (But that may need to be changed)
I do like the idea of a space-ish map. Would add some variety.
It’d be interesting if it came with low gravity too.
That would be an interesting thing to add, would definately make combat a little different in the low gravity areas. But I don’t think they would personally, I mean they didn’t with entombed. But who knows?
I think if they did the space station/dock and had a unsc fleet around it in orbit; they could do a few human ships and a couple of covenant/forerunner ships. Every once in a while during the match they launch ordinance at eachother for background FX. The covenant/forerunner ships would make sense because of the AI enemies that show up, that’s where they came from. And at the end as your pelican flies off you see one of the covenant/forerunner ships explode in the background. Would make for a cool ending cut scene
cool
