I loved that mission, it was really fun. I do wish they would of added it to firefight or something.

Space fighting was one of the things Reach got right. I’d like to see it make the leap into multiplayer, it would work great in Invasion. But I’m mainly interested in it being properly integrated into the campaign.
Look at what was planned for Reach. Sadly this got cut, but if that sort of scale and diversity was brought back and expanded on, it would be truly brilliant and a great way for 343 to show they can innovate as well as stay true to Halo. If they tip the balance too far either way, Halo 4 will fail, and I’m worried that they’ll take the easy option of playing it safe and not experiment enough. CE was so good because it was so innovative and ahead of the curve, it will be a sad day when the same series that started on that premise can do nothing but look back and try to emulate past glory days.
I disagree with you all on this. The space battle just wasn’t Halo. I hated it and thought it was stupid. If they do put it in Halo 4 i really hope they make it a whole lot more difficult and actually FUN. And I really hope they don’t incoporate it with Invasion.

Yes, the space segment was the best part of Reach, even if it could have been greatly fleshed out.

Underwater missions are funner.
It was one of the worst set pieces since the days of Halo 2. It was long and irritating to play through, and it commits the worst crime of all - it was boring.
The only way I see it working is if they really put work in on it rather than just slapping it on as a 15 minute gimmick to waste our time. And still, don’t put it in the campaign. Make it a mini-game or something. Halo is best when it is a smooth transition from area to area - not when you are totally forced to do some random and pointless thing just to move on.
How about a big battle where you can choose to fly an aircraft, or continue on foot, or grab a tank and go. When you are forced to do something, it detracts from the experience.

That’s because they’ve never done it properly. In my mind they need to utilize the zero G thruster, the magnetic boots and the space vehicles. Have the pilotable ships and do them properly (add more to the experience, add a greater variety of ships to use and use a more traditional HUD rather than the crappy one the Saber used in reach). Use the zero G thruster to maneuver through space without a vehicle and use the magnetic boots to land on surfaces and move properly. Also, make it actually feel like space with no proper up and down feeling.
How would he get off of the planet? To me it looks like there was only one entrance and exit.
