Space Battles

I would like to see 343i build a Halo game based on space battles… similar to Star Wars Battlefront and also the board game Halo Fleet Battles where you had to move your fleet to somewhere in the galaxy weather it be recon, scientific, or to back up another fleet and you get to fly longswords and frigates and stuff… I think that would be cool and a different side to Halo

We can somewhat create space battles in Forge mode but to have an official map and Conquest gametype is something I personally have wanted since 2010 when I first played the Long Night of Solace mission. Hell, I would be happy with a Firefight map based on defending Anchor-9.

I am also kind of surprised that no space battles were introduced in Halo Wars or Halo Wars 2 which makes me think that 343i just aren’t interested in the concept as a whole. After all, the RTS genre is perfect for space combat like Star Wars: Empire at War, for example. There is a mod for that game called “Covenant at War” which turns Rebel and Imperial ships into UNSC and Covenant ones. And I think that is as close as we are ever going to get.

its a shame really coz I really like the idea of space battles… and fleet movements… maybe they could do a spin off just for Microsoft store just like they did with Spartan assault…

I’ve always wanted a 2005 Battlefront 2 conquest game type for Halo especially since the new forge updates which even then with the limited build budget and limited items it’s hard to even get close to creating something like that, even if it’s a game type of you fending off boarding a.i. then boarding then back would be fun or a PvP concept of it but I doubt we will ever see something like it since Halo’s multiplayer has been built around arena matches with a small to medium player count for it in mind

just think how many online players we could have in one match… you could choose weather to be unsc or covenant fleet and other players are either team mates or enemies… like halo wars 2 but based entirely in space and commanding fleets to intercept an enemy player from attacking one of your colony worlds…

Well if you look at the success of Star Wars squadron any fool can see this idea is profitable and could be made in the HW2 engine.

yes and also it might help with canon and lore as we will see all the different UNSC ships mentioned in books but not seen in games I think it would be a good concept in my opinion

It would be amazing especially if A.I. was implemented as canon fodder kinda, and if you loose certain systems you get a debuff and if you gain certain systems you get a buff like say you loose Reach as unsc that’s a debuf to marines and reinforcements or if you loose High charity as covenant that’s a major debuff including loosing elites. The possibilities could be so good if a 2005 battlefront conquest was implemented

yes I totally agree… there are so many possibilties with a game like that and depending on which side you choose it follows the story of lore and canon… it would be a good game in my eyes and it might give halo a new following with the people out there that like those kind of games

I really enjoyed the space battle from Reach, it definitely has potential to be expanded upon.

It would probably bring more players in, sure it might separate a bit of the player base but it gives more options for people, I hope that we can at least make something like this in forge one day

yes I think that would be a good idea tbh

I think it will be great to see a Halo spin off video game where UNSC Pilots are the main characters especially if there is space battles. I can definitely see the game going in a style of Top Gun and Independence Day.

yes I know what you mean I play a game called stellaris console edition and you basically travel through the galaxy colonising planets and star systems and you occaisionally come across advanced life forms so something similar but with the halo lore/canon would be good… similar t the original star wars battlefront 2 space battles
