SP Laser and Binary Rifle Need Improvements

My favorite weapons in Halo 3 and 4 were the Spartan Laser and Binary Rifle. Both weapons were one of the most powerful weapons in their respective games. However, 343 destroyed my love for these weapons in Halo 5. The Spartan Laser had changed slightly from Halo 3 to Halo 4, but in Halo 5, 343 gave the Spartan Laser a longer charge time. This ruined the rhythm I established with the old Spartan Laser where I would hit every target I faced. In addition, the longer charge up time prevents players to kill other players using automatic or semi-automatic weapons at close range because the other player would kill you before you would charge up. In the older Halos, it was not hard to beat an smg at close range with the Spartan Laser. The changes to Binary Rifle are even worse than the Spartan Laser. In Halo 4, the Binary Rifle was an overpowered sniper, but to compensate for its power, 343 added a visible laser that gives away your position whenever you are down your scope. When I picked up the Binary Rifle for the first time on campaign in Halo 5, I was really excited to use it again, but I was disappointed when I took my first shot and learned that you have to keep the laser on the enemy to kill them. However, I would be even more disappointed when I used it in multiplayer. Players move constantly in multiplayer (unless they were camping) and one millisecond off target means that the player you shot at is still alive. What the hell, this is the Binary Rifle, not a setinel beam. Another disappointment was that the Binary Rifle in Warzone is ultra rare and takes up six Req points. I just got the Binary Rifle through gold packs recently (This is why I am complaining about it now) and I always died when I used it (I am an Onyx in arena so I don’t suck at Halo). What a waste of a perfectly good pack! I would rather have the Needler at three Req points than the Binary Rifle (Never thought I would say that ever). The Binary Rifle and Spartan Laser need to be improved in Halo 6. The original, not mythic, Spartan Laser needs to have the old charge up time again or more ammo. As for the Binary Rifle, 343 can do many things to improve it. For Warzone, they can make it rare or uncommon and have it cost less Req points to use. Other improvements for the Binary Rifle can be the removal of the insight laser that gives away your position, give it more ammo, or make the laser more powerful. This would make me happier, but I won’t be satisfied until the old Binary Rifle has returned.

Whoah bro, paragraphs are your friend here, most people just press back when they see a wall.

Now on to business, the Splaser was always effective as an AP weapon, but never intended for it. It should not be a viable choice for close range fights, and the targeting time is not too long that I haven’t beaten people with it. These days my success when facing a Ghost 1v1 is about 75%.

I do agree with your complaint about the Binary Rifle laser, it makes sniping very hard, I’ll share my tactics here. Set up and sight on a choke point with a wall or door or cover like a crate, use this to block the laser from the sight of people coming around the corner. With skill and practice you will be able to quickly shift your aim when a target comes in sight.

I personally like the beam gunplay style, it helps provide a sniper rifle for people who struggle with headshots, I know a lot of people who are bad at quick sniping headshots, but are great at body shots. Learn to use it and you’ll be fine.

Binary rifles weren’t in Halo 3.
Not reading the rest.

The Binary Rifle is good as it is. The new beam function of it makes it more of a challenge to use and gives the target a chance to dodge it instead of getting nicked by it and instantly vaporized, like it was with the Halo 4 Binary. As for the Spartan Laser, it needs to charge a little faster and do more damage to vehicles. It is supposed to be the ultimate anti-vehicular power weapon, yet it takes two hits to take down an Ultra or ONI type vehicle when it should be a one shot.

Disagree, the beam actually makes it quite fun to use, and as I said above, some players who have a hard time with lining up headshots may find this easier.

The Splaser is good as is, the other day I got lucky and took out a Hog, Scorp, Hog, Wraith one after the other spawning from a garage on Noctus. And ONI/Ultra vehicles are supposed to be tough.
