Soundtrack gives me goosebumps!

The new soundtrack was one of the things I was expecting to be disappointed by. However Gareth Coker has done an incredible job with this one song which somehow manages to throwback to each Halo game that I can think of. It’s got tones of the OG Halo Wars, the blatant Halo 3 piano score, the cinema of Halo 4, and the deep bass and percussion of the original two games. Now its not a Marty / Salvatori soundtrack, but it is very inspired. I am really excited to hear more soon.
Any thoughts? Anyone disagree?

I agree

“Set a Fire in Your Heart” sounds amazing! I only wish it was longer. I hope the other tracks don’t rely too much on the main Halo theme and can bring something of their own to the table.

I feel like a lot of the soundtrack is going to be callbacks. I don’t mind too much but I can see it getting a little repetitive.

It’s so sad because I can’t listen to it without thinking about Escharum’s Xbox 360 fidelity face. What an epic soundtrack undercut by a horrible cinematic.

This sounds great. Just hope the rest of the soundtrack is this good or not considerably not as good. I like that low, menacing sound at the beginning at 0:14. The build up is good, and then the epic, grandiose part with the Halo theme brings back all the feels.

If there’s one thing of course where not a single Halo has ever failed (even 2nd B’s like Spartan Assaults and Strike), it’s undoubtedly on its soundtrack. Goosebumps.

That whole song is amazing, goosebumps all throughout it really hypes me up for an adventure. And the piano at the end starting from 1:57 till the end is sooooooooooooooooo good.

This is a promising direction, I’d say. Now we just need some emotional and stylistic variety and some unique ideas and we could have a decent soundtrack in our hands.

The Spartan games have a ridiculously incredible soundtrack for mobile games. I think it’s a shame that we have not seen much of Tom Salta in Halo since then. He could have had done something pretty cool if they had him on halo 5.
