Kind of tasteless for Halo to make this official post appear on everyones xbox dashboard this morning. Everyones mad about the cosmetics paywall and lack of info about when important bug fixes are coming and they post that. I was excited it might be something about BTB being fixed but instead its another slap in the face about cosmetics. Drives home the point of what 343 and Microsofts real focus is

How is my Yoroi armor looking? I don’t have it…
If I did have it though. It would be looking out of place. It would stick out like a sore thumb in my Halo universe. It’d look like a bad omen for things to come. Next halloween, we’ll have pumpkin helmets and broomstick Ghosts I’m sure. I hate the Yoroi armor. I hate the pink flowers. I hate Fortnite for making developers think this is the way to do things.

I think my Yoroi armor looks cool at least to me. It’s pretty much where I want it looks wise, just wish the visors didn’t have the patterns in them. I personally love the core and I think 343 did a great job of making the core look like it could fit in the Halo universe.

Yeah. Mine looks dopey because the coatings available for it are crappy (except, we’ve discovered - the paid winter flame gold/red one 
) and imho I don’t think they pushed the ‘Samurai in Space’ thing far enough - the designs are far too tame, far too much like Old Earth Samurai and thus don’t give enough of a ‘this is 2500 AD in cool space-rated space armor for genetically modified supersoldiers’ vibe. The only thing I can think of that really understood the assignment are the crescent moon knees and shoulders and possibly the Yokai helmet, but I think it should be more stylized and less in that recognizable traditional style
Kabuto helmet is kinda cool tho ig. Can’t wait for the antler attachment

Ryu Hayabusa armour was at least built around the spartan armour aesthetic. Like the armours in Halo 4 and 5.
The Yoroi looks awefull and out of shape in my opinion.

I like the Yoroi core, but what I really want is to use the Yoroi Kabuto helmet with the Mark 7 core, you know the kind of customization MCC trained us to expect from 343, and that we know they are capable of. Other than that since I refuse to pay their outrageous store prices, and since they lock armor coating to cores, I pretty much have blue or grey to choose between now, also a far cry from the customization we had in MCC, and really pathetic on 343s part that this is supposed to be their great game.
I do have the armour but I do also share your views.
Why didn’t they stick to the lore and release an Elite or Brute skin instead of a samurai? I’m not sure how this one got though the approvals process lol

My samurai armor is looking like I got it. Living unused in my armor locker. Forever.

This game is aimed at 10 year olds with short attention spans and cringey need to be ‘edgy’ and different.
The whole world is going that way (look at almost any form of popular media/entertainment) but it’s still sad to see Halo being diluted and reduced to this for the lowest common denominator.

I just got it. Not intending on using it.
idk I can’t progress the Event because I only have regular challenges BECAUSE REASONS. Thanks for that I guess I have to buy challenge swaps now which is obviously the intent for only being able to progress 4 weekly challenges at a time and having Event challenges mixed in with regular weeklies instead of seperately.
Yoroi is just a cool new armor to sort of replace Hayabusa from Halo 3.
