Simple question. Do you think Harvest tech sould be used in future halos.
When I say Harvest tech I mean Vultures, Cyclops, Hawks, Instant Fire base things.
To me it would make sence because the UNSC may be very low on resources and Scavenging on planets like harvest may help restore there power. Yes some of it may be banged up but thats what hard work is for.
To me it would just help them and there fore make sence. What do you guys think.

um everybody understands that this is 20 years before reach and everything right? and we then understand that this was the tech (experimental in most cases) that the UNSC was using before the covenant showed up?
The reason we don’t see any tech? Because it was extremely outdated an inadequate to fight the covenant and or destroyed.

Hawks were dis-continued due to errors
Grizzly was forge’s own unit
Vultures are flying bricks and would be shredded by plasma
OK sure, the Cryo Bombs were extremely effective, but how much money did they cost?
Think about Vultures. Yes they are AC-220s and I’m sure they could have decimated multiple scarabs, but what happens when a Banshee gets above it, or for that matter a phantom which could just cloak and then open fire right next to the Vulture.
The tech that was so advanced in Halo Wars was designed to fight Humans. So much of the things about these vehicles in HW is the advantages they had against other Human Factions became their disadvantage against the Covenant.

Well Like the main thread says
Salvaged and re modafied
And Im sure a vulture could eaisly be modified to use heat monitors. or what ever to see invisable (sorry if its spelled wrong) ships.
and its odd that a cryo is cheapper then a vulture
SO it could’nt of cost mush to build.

Well, the Vultures would be more of a liability than anything, in my opinion. No doubt they’d be costly to produce, and their speed in relation to their damage output wouldn’t seem to make it worth it. They’d be easily targetted and destroyed by the Covenant plasma weaponry from a distance.
The Cyclops weren’t intended for combat scenarious, they were used for repairs and shipping work, similar suits are mentioned in Halo: Fall of Reach, but I could see them being somewhat effective if they were converted to a combat role and given heavier armour/armaments.
I imagine the Hawks just proved too costly to produce en masse and this is why it’s not seen in later battlefields. Towards the end of the Human-Covenant war, the human economy was crippled and so I can imagine such expensive aircrafts would prove impossible to keep, especially with their advanced technology.
Guys…come on… the reason they were in Halo Wars is because they needed more RTS style units in the game for it to have enough content. They were placed 20 years before CE because the story called for it. You cant expect them to put them back in halo reach through 3. Im sure alot of harvest tech could be reimplimented into new halos but you cant have a canonical explanation to why they werent used by the chief. those vehicles just worked better in an RTS
That really doesn’t seem like a bad idea acually. The way you put it does seem to make sense. I’m kinda hopeing that those vehicles are refrenced or at least in a Halo Story (and if they already are, notify me).
So yeah, this could work for me. (-;
