For those unwise, Tojima is the new audio director for Halo. The music from recent Halo 4 vids are his work, and I just wanted to give him a shout and say I’m blown away by his unique take on the sounds of Halo.
The new director’s cut of Awakening was astounding, every little change had such a massive impact on the whole thing. The music was great, and Chief’s silence gave me chills. He had been sleeping for years, and naturally he didn’t need to say anything. What’s more, this gave the escape a more sombre tone, as if the whole thing was about to end right there. He was glad enough to be awake at the end. Also the new syncing of the grenade launcher and explosions to the music was key.
Good job, Tojima.
And which director cut that trailer?
I fell in love once again when I saw the concept art vid. I love how they incorporate a new instrument into their music every game. 343i, thumbs up for keeping up with it.
Good bye orchestra! Hello techno! Not sure I like…

Well think about it. A new foe that is clearly a machine or machine like. Techno would seem appropriate a little as long as they also mix in the strings and such
That would be awesome.
The track in the concept art glimpse for Halo 4 sounds absolutely outstanding. I love the new take and I definitely can’t wait for the next Halo 4 trailer we get, obviously for many reasons, but in particular the music.
The type of music appearing in Halo 4 could be quite various. It wouldn’t surprise me if the techno-style music is one of many different styles of music we hear in the next game. I don’t think the techno-style music from the reveal will be the only style of music included in the next game.
I suspect the music will be rather varied. That said, I quite liked the music they used for the Concept Art video. It had a very sort of sci-fi feel to it.
He did an excellent job on the tracks we’ve heard so far. I’m glad to see that others feel the same way.
I like classical music like orchestras, i’m sure there will be a mash up of different music styles though :3
The new Music Reminds me of the original Mass Effect soundtrack.

The music for the concept art trailer was brilliant. Now I can’t wait to see(or hear) what Halo 4 is going to feel like with his new take on the Halo Soundtrack.

Why does everyone think it’s a director’s cut? It’s an early render with stand-in sounds and music. I don’t doubt Tojima’s ability, but the music in the “director’s cut” (uh, I hate to call it that), is just stand in, royalty free music.
The Concept Art video music was great.
If you wanna se some of his work listen to Castlevania Circle Of the Moon or Metal Gear Solid 4 Soundtracks.
Short but great curriculum
