And yet here I am, on controller, going 31 and 11 with multiple killing sprees, 3 triple kills, and clocking headshots with the sniper like it’s no one’s business in a single game.
Are you sure you’re just not as good as you think you are?

It is so difficult on PC that I get kills and I do decently as a noob.
When I pick controller I barely do a kill. Because the assistance with aim is basically non existent.
So I bet your pardon, where did I miss the part where I was supposed to be doing the same or way better because controller is so easier to shoot precisely?
It feels to me that you didnt play infinite with the controller at all. Or you are super bad with mk…
I am bad with controller granted. But the way aa works I would say that I would do better without it…
Something about the aiming in general seems off on controller. I have played on both for a variety of FPS games. Accurate with mouse, but controller has always felt more comfortable to me. Either its hit detection, latency of the bullets causing a wicked delay, or the fact it is a beta. Something is there. I am getting plenty of kills, but something feels off. Its like walking with shoes and one side is slightly higher then the other. You still walk, but it feels like something is wrong.
You can change that Xbox setting but the game doesn’t care and still puts you in mixed inputs as far as “social” games go.
Yep, I totally agree. Aiming never felt that bad before, even compared to “H5 bad”. And THAT was REALLY bad at launch.
Edit : Good lord, your topic has really got the edgelordz coming out of the woodworks!
This is like the third comment I’ve seen from you that lacks any intellectuality. It doesn’t matter if there is a ‘problem’ or not with Crossplay - it is added as an option and therefore should function as one, right now it doesn’t.
I have been a gamer for long time played console and played pc most of pc gamers use hack aim bots so they are not that good take cross play of before game is ruined
I agree. Crossplay HAS to be optional.
But PC is not only about controllers. PC cheating is high risk for console players as well. I want to avoid this.
So a few possible things happening here.
To go with point 3 Due to M&K Massive input delay issues atm Controller is actually far better and being preferred by pretty much all pros/high tier players, especially when it comes to precision weapons controller currently absolutely dominates M&K. I hardly use a controller for anything these days especially not shooters and I have gotten more perfects with the precision weapons in just a few games than I have gotten in many many hours of M&K.
True. I didn’t like the technical previews mostly because of the poor aim assist and constantly getting spammed by M&K users with the MK50 Sidekick from BR ranges. 365 rpm is click-click-click-click-click-click-click on a mouse, but trigger pull-trigger pull-trigger pull-trigger pull-trigger pull-trigger pull-trigger pull on a controller. I was dead with barely getting 4 shots in. Still don’t understand why 343i would make such an unbalanced weapon depending on your input the starting weapon in quickplay.
Either make it full auto just like the Commando, a 4 shot kill so it would be a mini short range BR or a 5 shot kill, so it would be a short range Magnum.
Haven’t played the Beta. I’ll see if things changed for the best or not.
I’m playing in PC with my Xbox controller, I have no idea what you are talking about.
I was struggling like crazy on MKB even against ODST level bots. Switched to controller and despite getting half the buttons wrong and feeling as uncoordinated on controller as like when you were a kid and got your mum to play, I’ve been slaying Spartan bots. Aim assist is unreal on controller. Non existent on PC.
I want aim assist on PC. Not to the extent of the consoles, but damn with the current strafe speed I just can’t track anything on MKB.
I’m playing on Xbox and generally do pretty well. Sure I have the outlier match every now and then where I get wrecked, but I’m not so overly confident to believe I should be better than every single person I go up against.
On average, I’m finishing matches with between 15-20 kills and significantly less deaths. Overall, I can’t really complain too much.
I have to agree with your points regarding controller aim, OP. The inconsistent aiming coupled with the 30 FPS of the Xbox One / Xbox One S makes playing this game awfully frustrating. I have never felt this helpless in a Halo game, and I was a Diamond / Onyx level player in Halo 5: Guardians. Even before I lock my aim onto an enemy, I feel like my aiming is all over the place. In a sense, the default aiming settings feel jittery and erratic.
The Commando is not crap. I play on Xbox and it feels fine. I played on both PC and Xbox during the Technical Preview , but since November 15th, I’ve only played on Xbox. The controls are fine and I don’t feel that things are too hard to use. Weapons like the Commando and Sentinel Beam are designed with a lot of recoil. You have to practice with them. Another thing that is true, is that like every Halo game prior, Halo Infinite is not tuned exactly the same as previous games in the series. Just because you’re used to something feeling a certain way in a previous Halo game doesn’t mean it will feel the exact same in the newest game.
That’s NOT true at all, literally every pro player plays with a controller, if mouse and keyboard was so much better you’d espect to see the opposite
It’s a shame that the comments are gate keeping as always. The mentality that most these people have is if it works for them then it should be fine for everyone else which is far from the truth. I honestly feel sorry more casual players on console. I’ve always played really good and use a high look sensitivity (7-10) but now I’ve been forced to reduce my look sensitivity to 3 and I still miss most my shots. I honestly feel I wasted my money on buying an elite controller because I’m already searching for a gaming M&K to play infinite with.
I truly don’t understand this change because it’s only going push the majority of the console casuals away from the game. The point of the classic aim assist was to make the game fun for controllers . Now it just seems like 343 is trying to train all the MLG try hard wannabe’s.
You can’t just call disagreement “gatekeeping”. Halo Infinite on the Xbox is great with a controller, and it’s not like I’m some pro. Look at my Service Record for previous games. I’m an average player. I don’t have trouble playing Halo Infinite on Xbox.
Which Xbox are you playing on?
I’m better at Halo Infinite with the controller than the mouse and keyboard.
