I play on PC and you can set it to input prefered so even with crossplay I only play against controller players. Seems balanced to me.

Aim assist should be removed entirely though. It’s far to much

AIM ASSIST IS NON EXISTENT: Aim assist genuinely seems to not exist, as many console players can already attest to. While some uninformed PC players cry about aim assist for consoles, even when console players ACTUALLY have aim assist, they’re still at a massive disadvantage due to precision of aiming, ability to completely turn around or in any direction with a slight flick of the wrist, and everything else that comes along with precise and instant control of your aiming. But to make matters worse, Infinite doesn’t seem to have aim assist at all. After testing a couple weapons, I wasn’t able to observe any actual movement with aim assist.

The only uninformed person here is you my friend. Years of generous aim assist has spoiled mechanical aim for you.

I wish Mouse aiming worked the way you described. It might actually displace the top 100 players who actively use Controller.

It’s important to understand the differences rather than to point out there are differences.

Truth be told, aside from addressable layouts, the Keyboard is actually inferior to a joystick when it comes to overall movement. Controller users are fortunate to have full fluid axial movement as well as the joystick’s ability to incorporate sprint and crouch to one digit (thumb) without dedicating another digit to its control and I’ll get to that in the mouse. Keyboards only allow for 8 axis of movement, which severely limits footwork.

However the Mouse provides a faster and ‘ at times ’ a more precise method of aim over its controller counterpart. Faster is key, the Mouse allows users to react to stimuli much faster. 180/360’s and ambushes are more likely to be survived, aggressive tactics are more likely to be used, but swiftness also impacts precision and the faster you are the least precision you pull off. Precision still exists in some situations that require it, but for the most part unless the player has their DPI and Sensitivity settings fine tuned, these precision moments are going to lose out to aim assisted controllers.

This is where controller excels. Stability aided by AA allows Controller players to excel at mid to long range engagements where Mouse users will struggle to maintain a precise picture on smaller targets. Small movements are also much harder to track with Mouse, crouching is incredibly hard to counter on a lateral plane for example, so pair that with the ability for the controller player to incorporate this type of movement into their play without lifting their thumbs, it’s very difficult to overcome.

TLDR:

M/KB favors aggressive risk/reward play

Controller favors defensive ranged play and footsie play

Once you understand the role you find yourself in, the advantages/weaknesses that encompass it. it’s much easier to develop a strategy around it.

I’ve done it. Rainbow Six Siege doesn’t have it on console. Granted you only need a single headshot to get the kill, but I usually performed pretty well despite the lack of AA. I also played Doom Eternal on console without AA enabled and always play on Nightmare difficulty. Hitting stuff in that game is miles more difficult than the comparatively slow speed that is Halo.

You’re getting a like from me because I could have sworn aim assist doesn’t exist in Infinite. I feel like I’m missing so many more shots than I normally would. Thumb sticks are massively inaccurate, especially compared the mouse use.

They need to fix that because I’m getting roasted and I’m usually a decent player.

Lol hackers were an issue on Xbox back in CoD4. There are definitely hacks on console games, but everyone will just automatically assume it’s PC cause it’s easier than jailbreaking your console.

Hooo buddy, it’s far more common than you make it sound. I have a few friends who worked at an aftermarket electronics repair shop and they were shocked at how many modded consoles came through. It was far harder and less common to do in 2007 than it is in 2021.

It amazes me that you think the amount of hackers on console is anywhere even comparable to that on PC. I’m guessing by your lack of awareness that you don’t play on console at all. It’s a completely different ball game. I can’t remember the last time I ran into a hacker on console. However, just about anytime I play on PC, I run into someone who is obviously hacking.

The fundamental design of console makes it extremely hard to get away with hacking. Yes, people can mod their hardware, but it’s incredibly easy to detect when you’re playing online. The whole OS is so locked down that it’s incredibly difficult to pull off any kind of cheat.

Once again I’m confused by how so many PC players seem to know everything about consoles which they don’t even have.

Out of my 35 hours on Infinite, I haven’t ran into a single hacker, at least not one that was blatantly obvious. Some people who I thought were hacking I ended up beating out, or would go even in fights against them.

I get an average of 2.3-2.8 k/d is fps games. It is literally fact that controller players average accuracy is 10-15% higher.
