I am writing this because i have just finished reading the first story in halo evolution’s the story follows the tale of spartan Soren-066. (information can be found here)- Soren-066 | Halo Alpha | Fandom
I am very unhappy with the way it ended and would very much like to write an extension to it and possibly work it into the halo universe i have formed in my head.(fan fiction)
any ideas would be great but this is what i have so far.
After the crash soren went off the grid no longer spartan 066 he is a man torn between good and evil a man on the edge of nothing knowing only pain and suffering.
after learning of the contents of the locked cabinet Soren is forced to flee Reach in search of his real father and his only living relative.
But what Soren finds may not be what he was hoping for.
(note i have not been able to fill this gap)
his father who works for the office of naval intelligence cleaning up after oni’s mistakes and answering reluctantly to his superiors.
he is in need of an escape a reason to leave the immoral things associated with his line of work.
After many years of gathering and storing intelligence on some of oni’s deepest darkest experiments including the spartan program he decides to go AWOL.
He decides to join the Insurrection and using his knowledge as leverage he climbs the ranks fast, faster than anyone expected.
after many years of searching for his son he is still unaware that the information is right under his nose and has been all along eventually giving up all hope he attempts to right the wrongs of his superiors by destroying the spartan program forever and the evil genius behind it DR. halsey.
opinions would be great. sorry if this is the wrong place to put it but hey its just an idea
Well as it is not for anyone else to read (unless they wish to) i would like to retain the mystery for myself and allow others to help decide the fate of a man that has left me deeply troubled.
if you do not find this appealing go play the game and follow the halo universe as the authors have intended. Kind regards rapid injection
So you want opinions, just not when they don’t like what you wrote? Hmm.
I mean to be honest, I don’t see Soren ever leaving Reach. Dude’s a proverbial mutant, he sticks out like a sore thumb and would be immediately flagged. The notion his real dad would be working at ONI and would immediately become disgusted with the Spartan Program and then go to the Insurrectionists just feels like a retread of Soren’s story. The whole “evil genius” Halsey thing doesn’t sit well with me either because I personally am tired of the overwhelmingly biased, one-sided looks at Halsey from characters and the authors using their characters as soapboxes.

Then take the book and throw it in the garbage.
Many Evolutions tales finish in a bad, dramatic or creepy way, leaving you always troubled. This is something I loved of the book, the first stories are very dark, Mona Lisa, the Brutes stories, Soren…
If you don’t like that sort of anxiety and chills you get reading those stories, I really suggest you skip some of the tales.
Sorry, but this would be a terrible direction to take Soren’s story.
The whole idea of Soren searching for his real father is, simply put, uninspired and cliche. And the idea of him wanting revenge on ONI is just a repeat of Naomi and her father’s story.
As for Soren, what’s wrong with his fate remaining ambiguous? It lets fans speculate and wonder. Not everything needs a concrete conclusion. He most likely died during the fall of Reach anyway, unless he decided to turn himself in to the UNSC in the interim.
This is Halo. Happy fairy-tale endings are not the norm.

my aim now is to somehow have Soren begin to accept his fate and the importance of the spartan program,using his training and cold blooded tactics to stop what his father is attempting to do.
but i am sure nobody is interested so i will leave it in a note pad on my desktop.
