That’s interesting. I won all my first 10 matches playing solo and I got into Onyx III (and after two more wins got into semi pro).
The ranking system takes a lot more into account than just W/L so I’m guessing the reason your friend got placed so low was because either; A. He was in a party with you B. he was getting carried a bit or C. you were versing extremely bad enemies.

Yes he was in a party with me and we were playing some pretty awful opponents…
We were obviously destroying Gold’s and Silvers, why would it place him below them…

Yeah, ranking is weird. I’m routinely matched against far superior / inferior players. Of course, I do get plenty of decent matches (47 to 50, you know, close even-skilled matches) but more often than not it’s pretty one-sided.
