The ironic thing is, it kind of eludes to a certain something, but nawwww, that’s totally fine to put in your post.
For the time it is taking, it must be a road atlas.
The roadmap for the entire 10 years, lol
343 doesn’t even know what planet they’re living on currently.
The day we get a Roadmap is the day I’ll properly grow a beard
10 years is plenty of time to grow a beard
I’m gonna guess their scattered, vague break downs of s2 is what they’re counting as a road map.
The real roadmap was the players we lost along the way. ಠ_ಠ
It’s pointless to even ask when 343 doesn’t even know and this is a fact.
They have way too many issues to deal with that it could be a year from now, and that is even if they can get their act together.
tbh they should just come clean and say “no roadmap guys, sorry” and focus on getting things right before anything else really
I think it’ll be a hot minute before we see a roadmap. Based on ske7ch’s statement that they’re hiring/planning/costing a lot of the code design work still, I think their plans prior to launch got completely upended (I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they did have a plan pre-launch), and any road map that existed prior to launch got completely scrapped. Once they realized how much players didn’t jive with their design decisions for things like limited playlists, challenges vs event challenges, the store, and so on, they had to drop plans and re-evaluate. Plus the number of issues with BTB early on and remaining bugs with customs, UI, desync, anti-cheat, etc takes time/attention away from any of the rearchitecting of the game systems where the design decisions didn’t go well, at least for areas where the same team that would be working on the underlying code would have to be pulled from design work to fix bugs - sometimes this would be the same team, sometimes it won’t be.
All that said, I think it’ll come eventually, but assessing where they’re at pre-S2 (at least publicly), I think late S2 or early S3 is more likely, with post-S3 being a possibility, though hopefully a smaller possibility. They really put their foot in their mouth promising a roadmap in Jan. Personally I’d just have stated that the plan didn’t survive contact with the community and we’re working on getting right with the community and then will evaluate a roadmap once we’ve gotten some headway there.
I might have a little scruff by then…I can’t grow a beard for the life of me
I think Season 2 will off very little in terms of content and focus on fixes instead. I also believe Season 2 will be extended longer than 3 months to give the team more time to prepare for Season 3.
Then, towards the end of Season 2, we will get a road map for Season 3 and beyond while they soft relaunch the game. And because they took all the extra time to continue working out the games issues, Season 3 will launch with a much more stabile base.
It’s almost like you don’t read any of their blogs…
Did you see a roadmap in them? Please share!
Based on the face 343i has put on since launch and Staten’s recent comments? They’re scared -Yoink!-less to commit to putting out any solid roadmap with concrete even approximate dates for when to expect major additions to this game.
The plan for the Slipspace engine to be vastly quicker and easier to build substantial expansions for than the legacy Blam! engine really hasn’t been reflected in what we’ve seen for Infinite so far. Every avenue people want to see expanded seems to be frustrated in development; Campaign Co-Op and Forge remain largely in TBD limbo and the multiplayer experience from nuts and bolts gameplay to cosmetics to progression all seem to be stalled with only little help seemingly inbound with S2.
I think Infinite had a very troubled development hurdle in achieving launch-ability for the game as it exists today, and ever since the S1 and Campaign launch happened, 343i’s been scrambling. The one thing that I have to give them some credit for is not publishing a roadmap just to appease fans in the short term when they’re not really confident about the direction they really intend to take the game.
That would be the best approach, hell we wouldn’t even be mad at them, it would like ok we get it alots wrong you guys are being honest and it’s going to be a kinda we see it as we go type of thing. Maybe a year 2 roadmap of things stabilize for for year 1 it’s just let’s see how it goes and stick around if you desire.
I’m gonna be honest, I honestly didn’t think that many people would select the -yoink!- off, lol
Conveniently doesn’t respond, lol
