I’m at work and eagerly anticipating news of this new patch.
I live in the UK so have had similar issues to the reported problems seen before. I really hope this patch has taken the edge of things because I’ve kind of boycotted the game until the problems have been resolved.
I’m used to Halo being a flawless experience where I can sit and play for a good 4 hr session and not run into technical hitches that break the mindset and aggravate the experience.
The patch notes aren’t looking amazingly promising because the list is so short…
My main problems:
Kicked from game 30seconds in… (H2a, Halo 4)
Not getting into game after the map loading screen.
H1/H2o/H2a/H3 hit registration.
Ranks resetting.
Player stats appear to be incorrect.
People not appearing in the roster… (unless going to campaign and returning back to matchmaking)
Not being able to connect to certain players, even when shown in the roster.
All members of the party having to quit the game when the above symptoms are shown.
I live in North America and it seems to be better can’t say for sure if you’ll have the same experience, but I did do a couple of matches BTB, and it seems smoother, hardly any lag. The only lag was in H2A (it wasn’t to bad it’s better than prior patch i believe) I don’t have the greatest Internet neither (3 Megabits down and 0.50 up). Well hopefully it’ll work better for you.

I had a little bit of time to check the game out the other night.
I was playing alone… so haven’t a clue how the party experience is going.
Noticed the roster loaded instantaneously… which is good news.
There’s also some new sexual visuals in MM lobby.
It appears they’ve lowered the audio level… many complained about the theme music being too loud.
H2a… worked very well. Won a game and levelled up… I was matched up against some higher levels which leads me to think ranking may have subtly been fixed.
H2o… Hit registration was sooooo much better… dare I say fixed.
H1… Hit registration was great as well… spawns were broken… but they always were anyway!
H3… still solid
H4… Booted after 45 seconds… it would appear there is still an underlying issue here.
Did enter a game and spend some time in the lobby before backing out and starting the search again. The re-search did fix it though and I was in a game very quickly.
Didn’t have one instance where I was stuck in a lobby with people waiting for 1 more guy to join.
So just need to inform my friends that the recent update has done something, I’ll get a party in with me and see how the recent build fares.
Just to clarify.

I can find games now but still getting kicked out in Halo 3 maps.
Im gonna stick with the Halo 4 playlist for now, thats the only one that is working fine.
My buddy and I get into a Halo 1 and 2 campaigns and get booted usually within 5 minutes of it starting. Then we also go into the slow motion Halo 3. Then, for Halo 4, we also get disconnected about halfway through a co-op mission.
btb still runs like crp, if you play with a guest then it will drop below 30 fps. sounds still cut out at random, still only loads one team, still has black screen with every other game. rank still means nothing three 38’s on one team and the highest rank on the other team in a 10- that’s when it loads full even teams. hit detection is still not happening, and every time I start the game up it’s always a bit of a crp-shoot to see what playlist is working and which ones aren’t.
But don’t worry 343i said the game is fixed…funny they said that the game worked back when it launched.
