Soooo The Next Halo Game... Yeah

So with the trailer that they showed of the new upcoming Halo game, there are a couple things I’d like to see improved and added to grab my attention.

1.) A Beta: now I know there was a closed beta for Halo 4 BUT I would like to see an open beta for the next game, there is a lot of information you can get open betas to fix glitches and balance everything to make sure that the game (upon release) is the best it can be, therefore leaving minor glitches and fixes for later.

2.) Larger multiplayer maps: Most of the maps in Halo 4 were to small for my taste. I’d like to see (considering the power of the X1) bigger battlefields with more players and more vehicle combat, making room for a much funner and more long lasting experience.

3.) Larger Forge World(s): Okay so there is one thing you should never do and that is take away what you’ve given us, taking away Fore World in replace for smaller less intriguing forge maps was a big NONO on your part, therefore I’d like to see same size to Reach’s Forge World or larger more creative areas to really let our imagine free, also the ability to change biome types and manipulate weather if all possible (Sort of like the map maker you’d see in a few game like Far Cry 2 but Forge World).

4.) Less annoying cast members: now this one is a little strange but I had a hard time playing Spartan Ops because of the, well… annoyance that some of the voice actors bestowed upon me, for example Spartan Miller…

5.) A darker graphics design: now this is purely my opinion, but I honestly thought that Halo 4 was to bright and colorful. The colors alone caused bleeding at some points and it made playing the game a little childish, so I’d like to see a grittier shading and graphics design sort of like Reach but not to drab.

6.)A UNSC air vehicle or two: Like I said before, you never ever take away what you’ve given us and not giving us a UNSC air vehicle was also a big NONO, the Banshee is cool and all but honestly not having access to a Human air vehicle threw me off a bit so give us something! Gahh…

7.) Last but not least a more Halo combat system: The implementation of sprint was a good move on your part, honestly I was waiting for that BUT you went a little to far with custom load-outs and armor mods (perks). So please do us all a favor and take a step back, I can see you all had a hard time balancing the game because of this COD style implementation so please keep sprint but remove custom load-outs and armor mods and go back to the basics, people love Halo for its simplicity and you all NEED to retain that for a while longer.

Sorry to disappoint you, but a beta is highly unlikely considering the game’s two year dev cycle. If there was going to be a public beta, we’d likely have heard about it by now.

Yes, some bigger maps and bigger teams would be nice, but only of they don’t completely overtake small-medium maps (which are a trademark of normal sized team games in Halo).

A terrain editor like Far Cry’s would be nice, yes, and bigger Forge Worlds. But I do prefer the approach of giving us multiple Forge maps at launch rather than just one Forge World for the gane’s whole lifespan (I got so tired of that map in Reach, it was unbelievable).

Now this I completely disagree with. The last thing I want to see in Halo 5 is the return of Reach’s dull, boring, gray and weird colors. It made the game a pain to play, IMO. I loved Halo 4’s graphics and if they were a touch less shiny I think they would have been perfect.

Yes, I don’t think anyone can disagree,

That is the big question. I doubt that 343i will take out all of the new additions (for instance, I believe Loadouts and Sprint are here to stay), but what they will include will be much more thought out. Maybe perks will be cut this time (hopefully) and maybe Loadouts will work better (probably) and maybe there will be weapons on the map again (hopefully and probably). I think they have the broad picture in mind this time, and I think they will also include a Ranked/Classic/Legendary playlist (or playlists) at launch. What’s for certain (given some quotes) is that Halo 5 will cater much more towards the classic/Arena fans than Halo 4. Will that be enough? Time will tell.

I know a Campaign beta is out of the question, but I think Halo 3 and subsequent games would have turned out a lot better if they actually had dedicated fans playtest the game rather than getting random people who don’t play much games to give 'em feedback… this is at least the case for Bungie afaik.
