Sooo.... when are the TU changes going universal?

Don’t get me wrong, the changes that are made to Armor Lock and Active Camo are great. Not to mention the 85% bloom and other changes. But what’s the point when they’re only going to be in 1 playlist?

When are these changes going to be applied to ALL of matchmaking? Is it the release of CEA? It’s just frustrating when 343 comes up with great solutions to the current matchmaking state, but then you hop back into your favorite playlist and still experience the same stuff

They won’t be. They’ll get their own playlists, but they wont change the current ones.

> They won’t be. They’ll get their own playlists, but they wont change the current ones.

Then what’s the point of testing all the new changes?

To test the new changes?

They’ll be the gametypes for the CEA playlists. The TU playlist is essentially the CEA Beta.

> They’ll be the gametypes for the CEA playlists. The TU playlist is essentially the CEA Beta.

So there is going to be multiple playlists for these changes then?

Like:

Social BTB AND CEA Social BTB
Team SWAT AND CEA Team SWAT
Team Objective AND CEA Team Objective
Team Slayer AND CEA Team Slayer
Invasion AND CEA Invasion.

Its just seems pretty pointless to test all these new changes when they aren’t even going into all of matchmaking.

Just my opinion

This is probably the biggest question that has yet to be answered. Hoepfully we will know within the upcoming weeks. When will the Title Update be finalized? CEA Launch with the new playlists? or After CEA sometime, maybe December playlist update?

> Team SWAT AND CEA Team SWAT
> Invasion AND CEA Invasion.

Is there SWAT and Invasion in the TU Beta now? They haven’t stated what the new playlists will look like, but I figured they would go with Classic, Team Slayer, Team Objective, and maybe BTB and FFA if we’re lucky.

Now I might be wrong but I thought 343 said that on Nov. 15 it will go global but there will still be a vanilla reach playlist for everybody who liked the old reach before the title update. I believe they also said that in the Halo:CEA playlist it will mimick original Halo:CE multiplayer as in uber-powerful pistol and all that fun stuff.

It’s been mentioned a few times, but it’s been kept fairly low key. Here’s a nice link/quote for you

> Halo Bulletin Aug 31, 2011
> When reading over the specifics, please keep in mind these options—which are still being fine-tuned, altered, and generally played around with—will live in their own special area. You’ll be able to go into a specific hopper, check out the adjustments, and provide feedback on your experiences. And it is with that feedback that we’ll be able to provide the best possible experience over time. So repeat after me: conventional Reach gameplay will continue to exist alongside this new stuff.

This might be specific to the TU Beta, but similar statements have been strewn across quite a few bulletins and interviews.

I’m fairly sure they’re creating a TU version for every playlist. I’m not 100% certain though.

They might creep into more and more playlists as time goes on depending on popularity. However, I don’t think they’ll ever be universal.

Spawn, as much as I love you (totally hetero bro love) I do not want these changes made playlist wide.

Removal of Sword Block is wonderful, the changes made to AL and AC are good changes, just not enough in my book, but I do not want Bleed Through and Zero Bloom implemented playlist wide.

Bleed Through because of the inconsistency in when you are truely vulnerable to being headshot and killed, and because of Magnum Deathchargers and Zero Bloom because it dumps a weapon sandbox where the full auto weapon is already so weak it can barely kill in it’s own range and dumps it on it’s head and makes aformentioned full auto weapon completely useless.

It would be my guess that they will add a maximum of 4 playlists.

  • Anniversary Slayer
  • Anniversary Objective
  • Anniversary BTB (Headlong, Hang Em High, Timberlands)
  • Anniversary FFA

However I wont be surprised if there is only one Anniversary playlist, as the new maps will be integrated into Reach 1.0 anyway.

Well that is your opinion but about half (or more) Reach players disagree with you. Quite a few people like Reach just the way it is. As for me I find the TU chnages to be okay, as long as I don’t have to deal with ZB all the time. To be honest I think ZB sucks, just my opinion though.

My man’s got a point. Isn’t a title update supposed to update… THE TITLE? When they updated Halo 3, those changes were game-wide apart from special game types (like swat, etc.).

Isn’t the title update supposed to BE the NEW “vanilla Reach?” That was my impression. I thought the TU changes were going to be applied everywhere, and that Zero-Bloom was just supposed to be a specialized game type. Wouldn’t that be simpler than having a bajillion play lists?

Thats my point. It’s no good to test all these changes if they aren’t applied in all the playlists. If you keep them separate there will be 2 versions of the DMR, 2-3 different version of the Pistol and 2 different versions of the needle rifle.

Is the Gauss hog getting fixed? What about infection betrayals? What about seeing players fileshares in pregame lobby?

I understand Bro Love boI :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, So you would rather have some Bungie Vanilla gameplay in some playlists but not all if I’m correct? MLG has their own setting they release, but what about 0 bloom in Arena? I would love to test the new settings in Invasion. 85% globally would be nice. I’m just stuck in a rut because 343 hasn’t said anything about it. And if it’s only going to be for 3-4 playlists, it kinda defeats the purpose

> They won’t be. They’ll get their own playlists, but they wont change the current ones.

I find that hard to believe even though I have heard from many sources

Yeah, I don’t understand why they even created a “beta” playlist. It’s a title update. It’s SUPPOSED to change everything from the time it’s applied, and any tweaks that need to be made can be done so after. There doesn’t need to be a testing playlist so that we can only use the better settings in one out of the 20 or whatever playlists.

IMO, every playlist should be duplicated and separated. One version would be Reach as it is, the other would be post Title Update. Actually, no. Everything should just be new Reach, just like every other game is post TU. I don’t know what 343 is doing, but this isn’t the conventional way to roll out a major update.
