Soo...Perks

This is not a rant thread.

OK now that I know that perks (for the sake of the thead, let’s say “Enhacements”) WILL affect how your character performs, I’ve edited the OP completely to give ideas of how this could work WITHOUT completely destroying the competitive side of Halo.

First of all, the enhacements IMO should be passive, and not noticable in combat, i.e anything that affects how much damage you do or take is a no no. Also nothing that lets you get to power weapons faster.

Now, onto my enhacement ideas:

-Increased reload speed.

-Increased Shield recharge rate.

-Increased crouching movement speed (good for stealthy players).

-Increased usage time on a warthog turret (or equivilent) before it overheats.

-Increased vehicle boost duration.

-Increased motion sensor radius

-Increased weapon zoom/Increased standard zoom.*

-Reduce the amount you’re slowed down when carrying a turret or objective.*

-Slight increase to the rate of fire of snipers and rocket launchers.* (Allowing you to snipe multiple people quickly or shoot multiple rockets at a vehicle)

-Faster cooldown of energy weapons and overheated turrets.

-Battery life of energy weapons (except beam rifle and energy sword) slowly recharge over time.*

-Increased vehicle health* (If the game doesn’t use the H3 vehicle system)

Community ideas:

-Faster lock on with rockets.

-Extra ammo

-Sprint*

-Extra jump height*

Those marked with a * are ones I’m not too sure about as they MAY affect gameplay too much.

Anyway post your ideas below.

I am a huge call of duty fan and there are perks in MW3 I just hope 343 doesn’t steal any perks in MW3. But the perks I would like is running perk and less damage to explosions.

> Now that that’s out of the way, what “perks” do you think will be in Halo 4? I remember destructible enviroments being mentioned in an interview. So maybe something based on that? Like a perk that lets you break down certain (preset) walls and access new areas for you and your team? r maybe one that lets you hack a terminal to open a door (basically the same as the doors on standof/last resort but you need the perk to open it). I think perks could have a lot of potential when it comes to vehicles. Like giving you increased boost or ability to use a turret for longer before it overheats?

sorry to break it to you but thats EXACTLY how they said they would work. They said it will affect your in game abilities or performance lol. But not in a way that gives you an advantage over the other team.

Its not like Cod its going to be halo 4 dont worry.

Hopefully very passive ones, like slightly longer sprint duration, a bit more of a thruster boost, or extra ammo off-spawn.

Damn. But I still hope they are passive. Like better reloads, or special vehicle abilities etc.

Agreed. They said you wont be spawning with power weapons or having super powered bullets or anything dumb like that lol

Whatever it is i’m sure i’ll be happy with it. As long as i know i out BRed somebody because i’m better than them with it then we’re all good to go

Completely edited (and improved) the OP

I think they will probably work in as they always have. For instance, the importance of being able to get up to higher areas on the battlefield. In Halo 3, this was accomplished with a gravity lift. In Reach, this was done with a jet pack. There are specific functions that need to be fulfilled (protection from vehicles, incoming fire, invisibility) that are in almost every game, they are just done with different tools.

There will not be any “perks” in Halo 4.

Thank God…

Sort of like BF3?

I don’t think that’s the perks side of things though. I’m sure there will be a feature like that. But I don’t think it’s perks.

they’re not called perks… Sorry to burst your bubble… If they do what they said they would do then im completly fine with it…

PS super excited for this game and cannot wait…

Maybe faster lock-on’s with rockets and vehicles. Or extra ammo when you spawn. Maybe sprint is a perk?

I know they’re not. I just don’t know what they’re called yet lol…Enhacements?

So long as there aren’t any damage or health buffs, I’m cool with character customization.

that sounds better

Hmm, some good ideas. How about jumping higher? It would let you get to all sorts of places. Also advantage type perks like, if you have no player within you vicinity of 5 ft, you instantly have the ability to reload better.

Maybe we get equipment like halo 3 but you start off with it. Better than the AA from halo reach.
