Hey guys, as we know the ps4 was announced just last week but sony did not mention the important details. When will it be released, what cost and what does it look like. I am saying this because this generation (ps3, xbox 360) i thought sony gained the upper hand unfairly. What happened was that xbox 360 was announced first and released first. We later knew sony released ps3 ayear later. However, during that time sony added a blue ray drive in and improved there specs. This to me showed that microsoft was truely winning the console war, and sony was trying to keep up. Thus gaining the upper hand and having a superior console.
This is why i am really hoping that if microsoft release a better console, with epic graphics, kinect and what ever they have, sony does not delay there release date or add anything new during that time. If i do, i will be annoyed beyond belief becuase that goes to show that Sony can not create a console.
Of course you are like that was strategic and that, but come on!!!
Anyone else agree?
Pffft. “Fair”. They’re both competitors. Anything is fair. Sony saw an opportunity to create a superior product and took it, but at a cost. The PS3’s hardware is superior to the 360’s. Anyone with enough intelligence can see that. But they paid the price in coming into the competition late and with a higher initial price-point.
Now Sony is taking the initiative with their PS4 announcement. The rumors that came out before the announcement were mostly true. Implying that the same assumption goes for Microsoft’s next console.
Meaning that used games will not be permitted on the next Xbox and that the hardware will pale in comparison with the PS4.
Ummm nothing about that product is even close to complete, why would they even bother announcing the price.
I expect that the new Xbox will be more than just a game machine that can play video content. I expect MS to differentiate itself by announcing some sort TV functionality to compete with Apple TV and Intel’s internet TV.
I don’t think MS’s strategy is to even compete, they want to distance themselves from game consoles of the past by offering and entertainment console that does everything you could ever want. TV, movies, music, games, it will probably do everything.

Remember, many big rumours about the PS4 were false. A major one being that it wont be able to play used games. A company would be foolish to add such things. If Microsoft were to do much of what has been rumoured then they would deserve to have their console fail.
For me, i am not a hardcore gamer. I enjoy playing games, playing online with my friends but i dont play everyday for long hours at a time.
The ps4 looks to me like a hardcore gamer console. Epic graphics, and good CPU power. However, i wouldnt want to waste my money on the ps4 because as i said i am not a hardcore game
If MS releases the new 720 which is more an entertainment device, i would buy seeing as it has multiple uses than just playing games.

Every current console is moving towards wider entertainment options. PS3 currently has many TV services, as does WiiU. Sony’s PS4 announcement was likely just scratching the surface, E3 will be when everything is revealed.
What’s this Play Station you speak of ? Sony ?
OP is a straight up Xbox fanboy.
