Not even joking, this is insane and disheartening. Wow…… just wow. Remember now, most of the original halo devs aren’t there anymore and so it’s not the same old bungie. Gotta keep that in mind.
What are your thoughts guys?

I would say Sony plans to develop a title that will try and rival Halo, a “Halo killer”, just like in the early 2000’s, but 343i seem to be doing that themselves.
Joking aside, this doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Bungie haven’t made a good game since 2010, when Halo: Reach was released. If they can make a great game under Sony’s supervision then more power to them.
When I see the comments “Halo is coming to PlayStation?!”, I don’t know whether to facepalm or laugh.
I made an attempt to get back into destiny 2 when the beyond light expansion came out. Grinded it out, got a first weekend clear on DSC and VoG, but at its core it still felt hollow.
If they make destiny PS exclusive, you won’t see me she’d s tear.
Really the only thing I truly like about Destiny is the IRL rewards system. The parka I got for DSC is so nice. The VoG ring is well detailed, but more cumbersome than my class ring.
The thing for me is that I feel Destiny is far superior to Halo at this point, and it’s not even close, and I was thinking about going back to Destiny. But I’m on Xbox and will never switch to PlayStation so I’m going to have to find a new title. This new non-halo halo is not doing it for me. I feel like 343 has lost halos identity because they are trying to be everyone else all wrapped up in one.
My takeaway is the 7.5b MS paid for Bethesda was a steal.
I can see them leaving Sony in a few years as they did with Activision. But at least Sony some devs who can make an fps, Destiny even with all its flaws the gunplay is amazing.
@Saiyan_I_A Could they get out of this deal? I thought the difference is that Bungie partnered with Activision and was not bought out.
I don’t consider it “insane” or “heartbreaking”. They said themselves that they’ll continue to independently publish their games with the support of SIE, so there really shouldn’t be any observable changes beyond getting more staff, which can only be beneficial for Destiny 2. That, and they won’t stop publishing to Xbox either.
To be fair, Beyond Light is the worst jumping-on point in Destiny 2’s entire history
I played from launch up through CoO as well. So whatever was in between I missed while it was current. Went back and did old content, got the GoS binary rifle whatever it was called. Idk… the game just doesn’t retain me. Maybe because I just find crucible such a bore and utterly imbalanced dumpster fire that I’m just left with grinding PvE content that dries up rather quickly.
That’s just my experience though. I know a lot of people enjoy it.
They will apparently still be a multi-platform company it says though, and largely independent. So not sure what difference it will make.
Either way I’m not bothered, was never a Destiny fan anyway.
What this proves is that Bungie never needed to leave Microsoft to begin with.
They stated that they will continue to be independent and every game that is out and will come out will continue to be on every platform. But yet again this may be just talks over this acquisition and in a few years the reality be different. Let’s wait and see, this billion dollar acquisition will only show anything in a few years.
If it was 2007-2012 bungie it would’ve been a blow but since its garbage bungie its whatever
