A while ago I think it was on Xbox magaine, something on the front cover regarding halo 4 said that there “Is a new hero.”
I’m kinda thinking it’s the didact. He hasnt really seemed the type (at least so far ive read in the books) to be so hostile. Especially Bornstellar.
I know he’s a war general but in the books it seems he’s left behind his human hatred.
and regarding the new “evidence” where it says cortana ‘Charges him’ I think it might be “charged” in the same way you get charged for felonies and what not…not literally charging AT the didact.
And suppose the Didact is the new hero. If he’s somewhat working along with the Chief and humans he would obviously have multiple differences of views with the Chief. Maybe escalating to a funhouse brawl between the two until it is broken up.
Why would 343, in their vidoc, give away who the ancient evil is?
Now, if theres undeniable, irrefutable, and concrete evidence within Didact is the evil theories. Excuse my ignorance. I havent really delved into the evidence being presented.
Of course if Didact is the new hero, that really would leave The Arbiter behind. But you have to remember they REALLY WANNA FOCUS ON CHIEF AND CORTANA…And I think to reintroduce the Arbiter so soon into the trilogy, they would really need to put attention on him as well because of his fanbase and importance in the Halo saga, kind of taking away from the Chief Cortana situation.
TL;DR
Didact is “the new hero”. Cortana doesn’t actually enagage the Didact. 343 wouldnt give away their ancient evil. Arbiter won’t be prominent so soon.

The fact that John and Cortana fight him on the last level of the Campaign makes me think he is. Even though I refuse to believe he is.OT: Lasky is what I automatically assumed.

I think he assumed this as the Didact supposedly drops Chief (most likely off a ledge) in the script, and a many connected this with the fact that he’s unconscious in what is most likely the last level.
My theory is that the Halo around the planet in the background of the shot with unconscious fired, at a low setting at least. Sounds crazy, I know, but it’s a possibility, not much else can render Chief unconscious.

A Hero Awakens - Part 1, the Script, pretty much.
Look at Achievements for Halo 4.
Level 7 is Composer. use the Composer, Cortana gets her own body, thus saving her from Rampancy.
Level 8 is Midnight. the last level of the Campaign. in the Script, Cortana has her own body, which means when John and Cortana fight the Didact, it’s clearly on the last level. this means the Didact is the Ancient Evil, since he’s the final boss of the Campaign.

You don’t know it’s the last level. Do you really think 343 would spoil the climax of the game 2 months before it comes out?
And I figured they were talking about your spartan ops character.
