Warzone looks to me like the culmination, at least in 343’s eyes, of the ultimate alternate mode for PVE that Firefight and Spartan Ops filled before it. Seeing how people seem to be overall enjoying it from what we’ve seen I don’t think it would be illogical to say that Warzone will be brought back in Halo 6 if it is this popular still at and after launch.
People have been complaining at the lack of customs for Warzone as well as Forge on the maps. People need to keep in mind though that when Firefight was first introduced there was no option to change anything at all. Beyond difficulty you couldn’t control anything because it was the first time Bungie had created the mode. You couldn’t even control the skulls that were being added. The same can be said with Spartan Ops which didn’t feature any of the campaign options with skulls until it was ported over to the Master Chief Collection.
This is 343’s first time creating this mode so certain just can’t make the cut. I think that the next time around, now that 343 know how to build this mode in the quickest and most efficient way possible since they already have a basis, they will be able to add a lot more.
We need to keep in mind that this is not only a new game mode, but it is something that hasn’t been done before in Halo and has to also have much heavier bug testing than usual thanks to the fact that it not only has more players than ever before, but also all the AI that could potentially screw it all up.
I expected this thread to be more negativity. Kudos to you. Have a like.
I still wish they would’ve let us forge on the damn maps.
But I’m still excited.
Just wish they would give out information more clearly so we wouldn’t see all these negative threads.
I’m confident that I will enjoy Warzone quite a lot, the pace of the game and the REQ levels look well designed.
I just can’t help but feel like the creative part of the community are getting the back seat this time.
I have big hopes for Forge I guess.

Even if they were crystal clear, there’s still people out there - one specific YouTube’r comes to mind - that can result in confusion. Even if we here following 343’s news get things perfectly, others might not.

The thing is the maps would have to be changed to run in a different way to be used with Forge. Something to do with all the extra baggage that the AI carries. They likely don’t have time to move them over to multiplayer if they ever even planned on it.
I mean we’re still getting Forge canvases though I mean we saw one in the beta so I doubt the lack of use from these maps will be missed.

See, this is my major issue with Warzone.
I understand not being able to Forge or customize the Warzone gametype, but why not the maps?
There is no reason as to why the maps aren’t available for Forge or customs. It’s really disappointing imo.

I’m sorry, this is not a good replacement for Firefight. At all. You can’t customize it. You can’t even play it locally. With Reach’s Firefight, you could do all of that. And it was glorious.
OK, but I also got tired of ODST’s Firefight as well. The only thing I liked about it over Reach’s were the maps and the base gameplay since it was using Halo 3’s weapons and also some nice little twists to movement and health.
And Spartan Ops, to be quite frank, was a failure as well. No customization. Had to play it online. Needed Gold for it… Sure, the setups for the SO missions were fun for a bit but they got old after a while.
Firefight in Reach was indispensable. But 343 thinks they need to reinvent everything their own way… Ugh. I’m starting to sound like those really cynical people now that I used to decry.
I’m with you there Arnox.
I still enjoy Reach’s Firefight but that pseudo-Anti Aliasing in Reach is hard to go back to, it gives me eyestrain something chronic.
I love how well 343 designed the sandbox for Halo 5, I just think that they missed a huge opportunity to showcase it all in non-stop PvE madness that was Firefight.
Chin up I guess, if we support 343 and ask nicely for Firefight, we may even get it in Halo 6.
No matter what people say that’s negative about Warzone its still a mode that I been asking for since Halo 3 days and people from arena mode won’t be destroying my gameplay experience up with all there super negative talk. With the New Warzone Mode, Halo can move forward in exciting new directions without changing up the competitive side of Halo. With that being said people that don’t like Warzone can stay in Arena Mode for Competitive gameplay and keep there negative discussion in that mode while people in Warzone can move forward to making this mode the best it can be for all players and not just super competitive once.
Now as far as forge goes I wouldn’t mind being able to forge this awesome map as well as others. But who knows we the community might get something new where all people that like to forge in Halo can take there forge ideas to the next level.
I just wish 343 would bring back Halo Custom Edition and make it a game for Xbox One and Windows 10. So we can take this game that you know and love to the next level of entertainment.
My only worry is that the territories style gameplay of Warzone will become stale, I hope that ether: A. They have other modes like Generator Defense or Assault or B. The maps themselves will contain unique aspects, such as a Flood infested one with actual Flood enemies and bosses, or A Mega-Scarab or Guardian that could spice up the gameplay
am beyond stoked for this game type. I can’t wait!!!

Never know. Still could get it in Halo 6.
