So I think I’ve may have noticed something with fiesta.
And this is in regards to after the update.
The games I’m playing there always seems to be one person on each team that just goes bananas with k/d. 27-2, 17-4 stuff like that, while the rest of the team is in the negative 5-9, 8-12.
But what I’ve REALLY noticed is when one teams is up by say 10 early in the game. That teams Shots don’t seem to register, rockets at a person’s feet doesnt kill them, FREAKING TANKS, the tank shots don’t seem to have the splash damage it should. Just things seem weird . And then, when the other team has caught up or surpassed, it seems to go back to normal.
Now this just might be me, but I can’t help but notice it and was wondering if anyone else did?
This sounds like nothing new.
At launch this game had terrible hit-reg that allowed for players to survive shots that are impossible to survive from.
For example, I Skewered someone from behind and they didn’t acknowledge that they were hit and the game just let them live with a spike in their liver. I then shot them again and the game still didn’t register the hit and the guy continued to snipe at my teammates down-range. So I then punched him from behind, which did no damage but did allow physics to shove him off of the platform. BUT THEN once he landed on the floor, he proceeded to be killed by one of my Skewer shots.
Infinite is just having a relapse and you are experiencing bad hit-reg once again.
That whole “shoot-rockets-at-feet-and-survive” thing was prevalent so much that we started just shooting rockets at our feet, which usually resulted in the shooter surviving and those around him prishing or taking a heavy hit.
But about the scores though? It too regular to be a coincidence. Server connection for that player being better maybe?
Sounds normal to be honest. I had a streak of horrible Fiesta matches this week, then I got one my first ever Running Riot in one with a tank. Crazy thing is I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get a Killing Spree for the weekly.
Well, one thing I have noticed with Halo Infinte when it comes to hit-reg is that when fighting a specific player in the match; that certain player will have inconsistent gunfights all the time.
For example. Enemy team comprised of a guy in Red Mark VII, Green Mark VII, Rakshasa, and Yoroi.
When encountering a gunfight with the Yoroi guy, I might witness the player rubber-band backwards upon my shots landing on them.
Example 1 - The guy is on a ledge and falls down onto my level. I shoot the guy. Suddenly when my bullet makes an impact, the server registers the other player’s inputs and corrects where his playermodel/hitbox should be. The Yoroi player suddenly teleports three meters up because it turns out he did not walk off the ledge but he did jump off of it. So while I was shooting straight, he was above and shooting me from above.
Example 2 - I start experiencing extreme jittering when entering gunfights with the Yoroi player. If I am within ten meters of the guy, I start having input jittering and suddenly my aim is all wrong when trying to shoot at the guy.
Those are just two scenarios that I have encountered as a common occurrence when I have a match with strange connection.
Strange connection because I am connected perfectly fine with the server, but then all of a sudden when encountering one specific player; connection issues are suddenly had.
When encountering the other three Spartans on the enemy team, nothing is going wrong.
But ONE specific player is somehow causing connection errors and such when in close proximity to them.
This was far more prevalent in the earlier days of Halo Infinite, so much so that I entered a Custom Game with some friends and all of a sudden I was untouchable because as soon as their first shots hit me, my player model would teleport to where I ACTUALLY was on my screen while the game displayed my model on a vector I was moving on a second ago, resulting in me being able to get a running riot before we realized what was happening.
The next custom game match we did, this did not occur again and the match was much more fair for all involved.
Online FPS games are a mix of skill and RNG.
Halo Infinite with its server issues however is mostly RNG.
You load into a match and there is a chance that one or more of the players involved will be favored by the server and the other players will suffer for it.
It has THANKFULLY become less common of an issue, but it is still an issue that prevails on occassion.
The problem IMO is too many mid tier explosives that can’t compete with the rockets, hammer or sword. Also too many mid-long range weapons that are slow to counteract the three main heavy weapons
Yeah way too many weapons fulfilling similar roles but not powerful enough for what you’re expected to counter, like the Cindershot, the mini grenade launcher thing, etc. Not fast enough to deal with Rockets or any melee weapons. Why do we have two three shot shotguns, why are there 4ish long range rifles that are all slow 4 shot-kills?
