About the ranking system and everyone saying to raise the level cap. On Monday, were getting 50 new levels that you actually have to earn by being a skilled player.
The progression system is good because its more user friendly for casual players, but the csr system is to make the hardcore fans (like myself) happy. In halo 3 people complained about the ranking system that they couldn’t reach the top.
343i has given us the best of both worlds. Not only do we get the progression system which many have already completed. But now that some have gotten their SR-130 they will be given a whole new more competitive ranking structure.
P.S. I also, love that it was delayed so that the progression system was the priority since launch and now it breathes fresh life into the game and new goals to strive for.
hey now we have to sites that give us a rank.
Im gonna stick to halotracker. They seem to know more about ranks than 343.
The new CSR system is just another form of competitiveness.

Exactly. What’s the difference between Halotracker trueskill and this new CSR?
Time will tell about “fresh life.” I’m not seeing it.
I feel like 343i is trying to please everyone. This will be the first Halo to have 2 ranking systems. One progressive the other, competitive. We haven’t had a competitive ranking since Halo 3. I’m looking forward to it very much.

Reach.
Halo wars
Reach wasn’t a competitive ranking system. Neither is Halo Wars in my opinion. If I played 1 million games of each I would be the highest rank you can get in each. But in Halo 2 and Halo 3 it wasn’t like that. It was all about how good you played not how much. And thats why I’m excited for CSR

Arena… An each halo wars playlist had your truskill level and team truskill as well.
I stand corrected. I guess you could consider your trueskill display could count to see your actual skilled rank. And with Arena, although arena was not done very well. It was a great idea. But the scoring system was flawed. I would be getting 1500-1700 almost every game, a friend of mine was 1100-1450 every game and we both got the Iron at the end of the first season. after that I stopped playing arena.
