Watching the new RTX videos, I’m really happy with the animations after the Spartans die. They don’t go flailing around like in Reach, and you can even see the wing resistance as the bodies fall into the ocean.
Just thought that I’d point that out. 343i is really doing an amazing job with the little details that make the game even better.
Are people still looking for reasons to bag on Reach?
While it does look more “realistic”, part of the fun from every Halo game was getting killed by an explosion and watching your ragdoll body flailing their arms around as they bounce around the scenery

Yeah, but the fun kinda shattered a bit when your legs started intersecting each other… :\

I wasn’t bagging on Reach in the slightest, I actually like Reach and play it quite often. But there is no denying that this is much more realistic then falling off a giant cliff after death, still flailing about, and not stopping until a few seconds after hitting the bottom of the ocean.

Reach wasn’t exactly the holy grail of the Halo series.

and it wasn’t as offensive as Ninja Gaiden 3 either.

Ohhh no. Nononononononono. You can dislike Reach all you want. But Reach has never and will never be as offensively bad as Ninja Gaiden 3.

But what could be better then flailing sparatically.

I agree. NG3 was failure of the most low, rivaled only by the appalling dumpheap that was Dragon Age 2.
Normally when people on this board are wary and criticize the changes 343 are doing, I kind of roll my eyes and scoff. But then I remember how NG3 and DA2 had new developers at the head and made changes and- considering the end results- I understand completely were some people are coming from.
> It is cool but done poorly I think. Only the legs move and the rest of the body is as still as a rock.
If you look closely the rest of the body moves, but in a way that implies wind resistance. Plus, I’m sure that the death animations aren’t completely finished yet, especially the arms.
