I just read in another thread about the Limted Edition details. One of the things we will recieve with the LE that I completely forgot about is an Assault Rifle skin. While I know this is old news, I remembered we have seen nothing about this. The only weapon skin I have seen is the artic Battle Rifle.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the idea of weapon skins. I see no need for it and as much as I hate to say it, It does remind me of COD. I can get over the skins, I love the armor skins, but I was wondering if there was anymore information or pictures on weapon skins out there that I may have missed.
The only info that has been released about weapon skins is the image of the arctic battle rifle skin and the inclusion of the assault rifle weapon skin in the LE copy of Halo 4

Please don’t classify me as a person who thinks this game looks like COD. I think Halo 4 and Call of Duty are completely seperate games. I’ve played both before and never have I compared the two. I’m just not a fan of the idea of having skins on our weapons. I like the way they look plain and really don’t plan on using skins. I just don’t want to see obnoxious colored guns all over the game.
Yet again, Halo 4 IS NOT AND WILL NEVER BE Call of Duty.
I don’t understand why people have a problem with weapon skins. It’s just for people who want their weapon(s) to look cooler. This doesn’t really affect gameplay, lol.

I can get over it too, it doesn’t affect gameplay at all, its just something that bothers me slightly. Im knit picking in all honesty because there is so little about Halo 4 I dislike. There are still things that concern me such as Jetpack and other armor abillities. Another thing that bothers me is not getting the original box art with the LE, but yet again, im Knit picking.
OT: I just don’t like colorful weapons. I hope the skins that are in the game are not ridiculous.

Beyond the arctic BR and armor skins, i don’t think there is anything else that is show casing what the LE AR skin will look like or what the other weapons will look like with their own skins.
…Not yet anyways lol I will leave this here (just in case); skins can be also be obtained in game by earning specializations (and possibly just unlocking them in The Armory).

Thats what I thought, I haven’t been lurking in the Halo 4 forums as much as I use to so I was curious if I missed anything. Looks like I have not!
I would expect them to show of a couple more skins. I’m personally fine with how weapons look starting off. I can’t imagine skins being on covie weapons. It seems kind of goofy…

Neither have I, been doing some catching me self
However similar it maybe to COD, thank the maker that these skins do not bestow players with asymmetrical advantages (I.E stat boosts). God that would be horrible >.<

Agreed. If its a skin for a weapon it should only be a visual change.

I will most likely give them a fair try, but I can’t really imagine myself using them unless theres something I really like. I just think it might get to a point where some of the guns just look goofy.
I personally wont use the weapon skins as that idea does not appeal to me. While i have full confidence in 343i and Halo 4, it does seem like theres an awful lot of (imo) pointless customization. I hope 343i will realize less can be more.

I don’t think it’s similar. It’s the exact same thing as camos in cod, but nothing wrong with that lol. Neither of them effect gameplay. Like I n Austin said, might be some goofy camos that are just ridiculous to bare to the eye ._.

Well, similar in the aspect of slapping some good ol paint on gun but since it doesn’t affect gameplay, it’s all good

Don’t forget the skin for the Forerunner Lightrifle (or was it the repeater?) that comes with the console bundle.
