There are many things I want in the Halo series from a covenant bow to having to wipe blood off your visor. Nothing would make me happier than Forge firefight. No other company has done anything similar. Call of Duty: World at war has a zombies map maker, but that was devised by the community. 343 could be the first company to implement anything like this.
I would like to make my own firefight map, pick where enemies spawn, pick my enemies, and what supplies spawn. It would be very fun to go on firefight Matchmaking and play on chosen community firefight maps. The ability to pick from covenant or flood would be great too.
I would love this. I think this is where next-gen Forge ought to go.
Great idea OP, I love it, the only problem that I could think of is people would take advantage of this to grind out their commendations for covenant kills, other than that, I think it would be a great addition to halo 5
This could also be useful for Machinima projects. Genius idea.

Simple solution. Any custom matches don’t count in the commendation area. You can still earn xp and whatnot just no progression towards specific armor unlocks and other things.
OP great idea. I know the community has definitely wanted this for a long time.

Nice and simple. Stops the boosters/cheaters from unearned rewards.
Good idea.
The boosters and cheaters, yes would take advantage of this ‘tool’ to implement spawn locations… but I would like to see a smart-response-spawning system in-place.
So basically a Monitor can forge the static locations of enemies… yet the game-chooses which ones of these to spawn, or rather deliver, the enemies… this way this factor is still randomized.
And another thing to stop mass commendations boosting is too accomplish a ‘test-paths’ solution so the spawn forces… both enemies and friendly AI have no ‘chokepoint spawns’ where they are forced through a narrow passage which can easily be exploited.
Great idea, i think at the moment though we need to get 343i to bring back normal firefight before we can think about them bringing us forge firefight.
Sounds like a very interesting idea. If anything I hope firefight returns.
I want to make a final stand map from human and covy perspectives, If playable elites do return I want to spawn marine and odst troops to fight or aid you in battle. But if forge firefight happens then we need to be able to to spawn civilian/covy/unsc obects in forge not just silver togive it a tone(also selectable music…)

I could see this happening now that we’ve moved on now to a more powerful system.
The biggest problem with forging AI i think was brought up in several threads prior to the release of halo 4. That problem is the AI. Unless things have changed drastically since earlier halos, in order to have the AI work smoothly the devs use special tools that tell the AI where, when, and how to move around the map. In order to forge a FF map you would either need to give these tools to the player (which would be tedious and would likely result in fewer quality maps) or to use an entirely new AI type that detected its own pathing and made its decisions based on that. This makes the AI harder to break but the AI i think would likely move a lot more predictably. Its possible that they could create a realistic FF AI that would take advantage of the map without special coding done by players, but until I see it done I will be skeptical.
I think forge firefight would be a good idea as long as there are some restrictions to prevent boosting like was mentioned before, but before it is even feasible the AI problem I highlighted above would need to be addressed.
