So…I’ve been playing overwatch, and by and large the two games aren’t really comparable. But there is ONE aspect about it that I love: The matchmaker.
So when you play in a group of 2 or 3 or whatever sized group, the game first endeavors to match you up against only groups of that size, before going to a more broad search. Case and point, I’ve never gone up against a fully organized team in overwatch when I was Solo queing.
I was just thinking the other day how awesome it would be if halo tried to follow this system. It would eliminate a large portion of issues people are having in relation to getting farmed in warzone, or just going up against a full premade in general when it’s just you and randoms. Overwatch seems to know that this leads to imbalanced messes of games but why can’t ANY of the halo titles realize this? This system would be good for both the solo player and organized teams.

Now thats what I have been trying to say since… god knows since when… I just left playing arena because of getting matched with fireteams when i play solo…
I think they do have it in place, the issue is it doesn’t always work or there just isn’t enough people playing to make it work.i personally noticed it quite a bit in mcc and sometimes even h5 when playing ranked.

No they don’t have that system in place solo players can match full teams of 4 quite often. They had it in halo 3 and was great soo don’t know why it’s not in this game. Especially with the recent post of halo 5 having soo many active players

That post is purely speculation only, and as I said, a system matching team vs team won’t work very well if the pop is hurting cuz then you’ll have people waiting 20 minutes or longer just to match a team, it’s something not many are willing to wait for so the restrictions loosen after w time and match solo players vs teams. It’s a pick your poison ordeal to me. Want fast search times but play vs teams running solo yourself? Or wait so long to play team vs team? I know h5 at least attempts to match team vs team here and their cuz people will have close gamer tags to other players in their team. Examples like Iz flamingo, Iz dart wheel, Iz har thumper, ect ect where I run with my UEG guys.
Well I don’t know about you but I would rather wait longer to find a game then get paired up against a full team almost every game. If I’m searching solo then the other team should be solo players too it’s only fair. This is especially an issue for the newer players coming in because they might not even know they are matching a full team. They could just think they are aren’t good and feel discouraged to play.

I agree, I myself don’t mind waiting longer to get matched team vs team (I only solo in warzone since it doesn’t hurt me very often doing so). Like I said tho, the general consensus would be most don’t like to wait very long to find games, I’m sure they also don’t like matching vs teams if they run solo either (hence why I said it’s a pick your poison kind of ordeal). As for new players feeling discouraged, even if they matched solo they could still feel discouraged, an -Yoink- whooping is an -Yoink- whooping either way. New players should also expect a learning curve as well, not expect to be good right off the bat.
Most st of what I say is speculation tho, I truly don’t know if h5 tries to match people team vs team first and then losses S up after time, but I do feel like it does, especially in ranked games. I also don’t know h5s pop, for all we know it very well could support a better system but 343 chooses not too. There’s just two many questions for us to pin point the issue if you ask me, all we know as players is this is an issue.

Team/party based matchmaking would fix a lot of the problems in Halo.
This may be in place already hence the updated search preferences options: Focused, Balanced, and Expanded. Try a different setting from the one you’re currently at to see if that mixes up your opponents.
I think it’s needed been thinking that is really a basic thing every pvp multiplayer needs.
I don’t know why people do it but I’ve seen intire teams of smurfs in warzone. I don’t know if that’s like a double whammy full team and no record of hidden CSR.
I play 99% on my own, rarely with some one and never even in a full time of 4.
Uhhhh…-Yoink-. I played Big team battle constantly in halo 2 and 3, the amount of times I went up against a fully organized team with all randoms was…numerous. And back then you could plainly see in brackets on the team lists that you were indeed facing a full group, with not even a team of 3 on your side.
