The forum is full of people complaining about everything about Halo 5, even though it’s still kind of in development.
Granted it wasn’t full at completion but I still think it’s a really good addition to the Halo series!
I want to talk about what people like about this game, instead of what could be.
I like-
- The req system is awesome, it gives you something more to work for and love how you collect req points. - The addition of warzone. Baring in mind this game was made from scratch for the new gen, warzone is a pretty big addition and it works so well! (When people aren’t slaving for the achilles!) - The addition of the CE pistol and Halo 2 BRs is a nice tribute to what got us playing halo in the first place.
- Thrusters are epic. - The title screen in gorgeous and I loooove the sneaky grunt that flies past!
What do you like?
It says quite a lot about this community that a positive post like this gets instantly buried.
As for Halo 5, I really like the deeper focus on lore, bringing in the Swords of Sanghelios and forerunner castes (builders, warrior-servants).
Forge. Warzone. Campaign. All of them hit it out of the park in my book.
I’ll ignore your praise of the req system and say: I get this weird little thrill every time the announcer says, “Perfect.”
hmmm, I like the game but there are too many flaws for me to pick one thing… Well arena is awesome
-We have the crazy gamemode of Warzone
-Blue Team
-The AI rebellion is going to be a cool story arc
-Monthly updates
-Best balancing in any Halo game
-The list goes on and on, shall I continue?
A “Let’s think positive about Halo 5 for once” thread?! I must examine this for further study!
Seriously, I personally like it when people post threads and saying good things about Halo 5. Gives me hope.
I like Halo 5, though yes there are some things that grind my gears about it, I like the game.
-No paid DLC yet
-Plenty of REQs to feed nostalgia
-Well-balanced weapons
-Spartan abilities are fun to use and work well
-Warzone
-Arena is fun
There’s a reason you don’t see positive threads, and I like it. We already know what’s good about the game, so we don’t need to bring it up over an over. If we did, it would be beyond annoying. But the bad stuff, please, shout it to the world. We need to know what people don’t like, and what’s broken, so 343 can then fix it…
It’s pretty simple if you think about it.

- Microtransactions…boo. Just charge me 70$ for the base game and make the grind less bloated please.
- Warzone is fun when you aren’t up against a coordinated team as a solo player. I love the idea, but dislike much of the execution.
- The Halo 2 BR was a great addition, but the CE should’ve stayed dead.
- Thrusters are the only Spartan ability that I hate, the rest are fine.
- Title screen looks great, Title screen music is better. :3
My likes:
Weapon Sandbox is fairly balanced.
Forge is awesome.
The new soundtrack almost lives up to O Donnell’s legacy.
The game is both good and bad in different respects, it only beats the multiplayer of Halo 4 (have only played, 3, reach, 4, and 5)
But the one positive thing I will say is that halo 5 has the potential to be an amazing game (saying it only good (7-6.5/10) at the this point).

But Microsoft and 343 marketed it and charged it as a $60 game with multiple editions. It shouldn’t still be in development.
Everything mention already plus crazy tight mechanics, amount of customisation, people speaking again on live, fun in multiplayer, all the collectible stuff from Halo 5 has been awesome too…
Kinetic bolts, SMG, recon dmr, going solo against knight bosses, sweetest assassinations…and radar armor mod…
Just everything, attention to detail, from needlers aiming down sights or lightrifle and all the sounds accompanying this…absolutely amazing!
I would say Halo 5 is the best game ever, I’d say it could be better but that’s just because I’m imagining like a Skyrim, mass effect, elite dangerous, just cause, ninja gaiden, street fighter and other greats…but all still Halo!
But yeah Halo 5 is my favorite game…
It finally has enough variety to give me something to do no matter what mood I’m in. I also think the ranking works pretty well. Most matches are competitive.
