Something new about the Spartan IV’s?

I just realized, the appearance of the new spartan fours kinda resemble stylized edo-period japanese assassins.

I dont know if you see it like I do, but here is a comparison.

Allready, we know that they are stationed aboard the Infinity, which means they work for ONI (sneakiest organization in space), and that they (spartan IVs) are originally spec-ops personnel. Also the name of the new episodic coop mode is Spartan Ops…

Additionally, Halo has had “ninja” type armor permutations before, but being the default getup for the sIV, might it be that they represent a “sneaky” character-type?

if they are indeed “stealthy” or “sneaky” type characters, that would in turn tell us something about what/who they will be fighting. Especially since there now is a thing called forerunner-vision.

Agreed, Spartan IV’s are ninja-looking as heck now.

Who says Ninja, also says Ninja Gaiden.

Who says Ninja Gaiden also says Ryu Hayabusa.

Who says Ryu Hayabusa, says Hayabusa helmet.

Spartan IVs to have the Hayabusa permutation?

I wish they bring back Hayabusa armor and all old ones ^.^

The Hayabusa armor may have, in-universe, influenced the design of the Mjolnir VII helmet, but since the Hayabusa armor was basically an exchange with Team Ninja, I doubt that the actual Hayabusa armor will be making a return.

Well, as I mentioned, Halo has had “Ninja” inspired armor permutations before, and yes, I am referring to the hayabusa, which is in fact related to Ryu Hayabusa of the DOA and NG universe. That, however was just a result of a Bungie and Team Ninja collaboration. Lets not forget there was also a spartan character in DOA 4. (Nicole?)

What I wanted to point out though, is that what we are seeing, is in fact the default sIV permutation, and that this might hint towards their role in the halo universe.

I disagree, it would be a waste of the IV’s to use them for only assassination missions, it’s not like we’ve ever had all that many people to assassinate. The prophets and that’s it, the arbiter was trying to kill us and we couldn’t assassinate the gravemind.

Even with the pictures, I wouldn’t say the similarities are overt. Only really the square front which is an expansion from the mark V’s (?) since the MC has always had that bit, it’s just been no where near as noticeable. In addition, the Spartans were always used for special ops, they are the best for the job.

I can see where you are comming from, but it seems like to much of a leap for my logic…which is rare.

That aside, if this is indeed the standard armour now, I am disappointed. I had hoped it was just a permutation which they had done and I suppose they still might be concealing the rest by using that in the RvB, but it just looks out of place for me.

Well, I think we can agree that the helmet looks kind of weird for halo. But I think the same discussion appeared pre-reach. As it turned out, we had sufficient room to customize. (although there where plenty of other fugly looking face-buckets.)

Personally, I don’t mind the spartan fours, not compare to the new chief armor. It was best in the first game and they never got it right since.

Bulky generic ninjas, now i want to see armor permutations

If Spartan IVs are Ninjas, dose that mean we get the katana back?

Shredder from TMNT isn’t exactly an accurate representation of Edo Period Assassins.

Well no, but I did say “stylized” assassins. Shredder is a mix between ninja and samurai I guess. But with spikes.
