SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS

343, really needs to do something about all the people Modding on Halo 4. It gets annoying and Unbearable, It takes all the fun away from the people who are in to really play the game straight. I cant go a few games without seeing someone who is modding, or using auto aim, I get shot through walls, people are shooting me through their backs or sides, killing me with 2 or 3 shots of loadout weapons. I play through games where I will shoot at someone with an entire clip of ammo, and it does nothing and all they do is turn around and shoot me dead with 2 or 3 shots. I’m tired of playing Halo cause of these situations, the game should be based on skill, not who can mod the best.

Modding is fine.
Hacking is not.

A lot of that sounded like what you would experience in a laggy match. Still I won’t deny that people do sometimes cheat and make it unfair for the majority who don’t.

You’re probably mistaking the abundance of lagg for an abundance of modding.

That doesn’t at all sound like modding. Only lag.
Coming from Australia I know to well of the issues this game has with lag, hence the reason why I refuse to play on any host aside from Aussie or NZ.

The XBL platform is quite resilient against modders, however there are some that get online in matchmaking. Since mid life Halo 3 and the introduction of the 360 console and XBL since then modding is not very common in Halo.

The most common answer to your troubles is latency (the correct term that so many label as lag). Essentially the host version of the game is different to what you see on your screen or in your version of the game in theatre view.

It’s a necessity for being able to play online FPS games, the developers do very well to create the netcode and I personally would rate the Halo netcode some of the industry best.

I’ve been through the days of shooting myself in the back with my own rocket in Halo 2 due to latency, I’ve seen the real epidemic of modders in Halo 2, I’ve see the effects of host cheating in Halo 3 and to say Reach and Halo 4 aren’t a real stand out and hands down far and away better netcode that Halo 1-3 is an understatement.

It’s hard to have to deal with the reality of playing over the Internet but that’s where your in game events come from. My advice is to play with friends from your local area, hit up the recruiting forums here on Waypoint or get chatting in game to have local players in your games get a local hosted game.

It makes all the difference and your enemies will be the ones with poor online game issues and you’ll enjoy your games far more.

i know the difference between lag and moddders…i know when i see modders, people will be wearing armor they should have yet, stances that dont match anyones K/d…i know when i see a modding playing

Xbox LIVE Enforcement handles modders as they are reported in-game. However, nearly everything you’ve described in your OP – bullets through walls and the like – sounds like a symptom of lag. Modders that use their knowledge to cheat tend to be much more obvious about it… But let’s not go into detail on that, lest we break the rule against detailed discussions of modding.

For those more provable cases, please File a Complaint on them in the Xbox 360 menus, and consider also PMing their gamertags to bs angel or rukizzel (make sure to mention the inconsistencies that make you think they’re modding). Do not, however, post their gamertags on the public forums, as that violates rules we have against calling out.

I got shot through two walls on Abandoned. I thought that was a hack, but never really new for sure. I should have saved the film and asked bsangel or someone to look at it, ya?

Go back in time, experience Halo 2 standbyers and modders, then come complain here about these “mods”.

There was one game back on Containment where everyone on my team would respawn frozen in place 20 feet off the ground in the middle of the field and a single person on the opposite team fired a sniper like a machine gun at the single point we spawned at for about 3-5 minutes before we all gave up and quit.

jesus christ not another one of these.

very clearly not mods.
