Something needs to be done about quitters

Can someone tell me if the penalties for quitting even exist? I mean lately, every second match I get into, a person leaves. And then another and another. And after the match I check the ranks of the quitters- levels 70+.What the hell? I mean at that point in the game you’d think that they had learned their lesson- but no. Apparently not.
ALSO- how could I, a platinum 1, get in a match against a “champion”? These matchmaking levels or whatever need to be fixed.
Link to my previous match- this isn’t the first time something like this has happened either http://imgur.com/mbfxQEP

You already answered part of your own question.
first, unfairness. Players of higher level usually have more experience but that doesnt mean they are better. their judgement on the winability and time vs payoff is better.
for example if you know you are fighting a losing battle and you know your stats will go down a lot, they usually take that loss and get over it and on to the next game in the hope its more balanced. The fix is easy; Balanced teams equals less quitters. banning wont work, it will just drive players away,.

As for warzone; if im getting farmed im sure as hell quitting. im not gonna stay in the match and get grumpy because i get spawnkilled. thats no fun so yes i will quit the match. if i get banned for doing so, so be it. But im sure as hell not letting some dkhead team ruin my day.
and i think im speaking for a big chunk of the community.
Ps i am currently lvl 96. and my average rank varies between gold 3 and platinum 3. ive had higher though. And sometimes when im placed against a team of silvers with some unranked when im in a team of diamonds, and we get rekdt well thats just wrong.
First it shouldnt be able to match me with diamonds,
second it shouldnt be able to match us against silvers
and lastly. silvers shouldnt be able to crush diamonds.

Please clarify.
Because this is the reason people quit. Its just not worth it. They take the ban for granted and go do something else. for example if id get a ban for more than 1 day id -Yoink!- sell the game and never buy it again… not gonna pay for something that is supposed to entertain me while its ruining my day, note* this is the case with black ops 3 which i sold.

I think if players quit there should a ban not on all matching but only the playlist which you quit. Howver this only bans you if team was full. The ban only works on ranked playlist and only bans you for about on hour. If you lag out it should only ban for 10 mins or less.

I bet most of your quitters are actually just people getting disconnected from this games GOD AWFUL ARENA SERVERS.
It is a Miracle if I find a match where I can move 3 feet without lag.
It is so bad.
Holy.

I highly doubt it. One I’d understand, but the others just leave themselves…Also I find it odd that they just happen to get DC’d when their score is 1-5

Then like you said, balance the teams. I don’t really care much about warzone because you get plenty of RP and XP no matter how poorly you do.
The farming does mess you up, true, but I think I saw a post on Reddit that 343 are doing something about that.

I feel like the penalty for quitting went from nil to super harsh in halo 5. If I see my cousin or fire team come on and I back out to join them, sometimes I’m screwed. Just too harsh. But I also get it. People also lag out quicker now too. It’s for the better just way different than any previous halo title

You are part of the problem. I can’t believe you had the guts to get on here and defend QUITTERS/ LOSERS. finish your game! Be a man. I say up the penalty for purposed back out’s 24hr ban!

Just find more people to team up with. Quitters suck. Believe me, I cringe when no one on my friend’s list is on and I have to play Halo solo…I really do…but I also accept that people are going to be sore losers and quit to leave me without any chance of winning. It happens more often than not it seems. But, knowing that before I go into a game alone, I just have to accept it, do the best I can in the match, and hope more friends come back online.
