Its not a mechanic, map, character, weapon, or anything like that. Something that’s been missing since after the original trilogy, and after the campaign overview video, I think 343 could pull off something pretty reasonably.
What am I talking about?
I could honestly be one of the only few people out there who would like/love to see the return of main menu trailers, and I’m ok with that. They could never be brought back to Halo and it would not lower my fondness for Halo. I feel they could be one of those things where, you are not in the mood to even play against bots, instead you just want to chill to the music, then every now and then get some gameplay footage play with even more of the soundtrack, then maybe get in the mood to boot up MM or customs.

To this day, CE’s #2 trailer brings back very fond memories that even just thinking it tears me up a bit
