We all love Johnson for his smartass attitude throughout Halo: CE, 2, and 3. However, something I noticed about Johnson in Halo 3 is that he is more serious than he is in the previous installments. He had he serious moments in CE and 2, but he was more for comedy, in 3 he does crack jokes here and there, but he’s more concerened as well as angry at Truth. He even shows sorrowful emotions holding Miranda’s body and has one final emotional bro scene with Chief. I wonder why Johnson was given more depth in the final game in the original trilogy instead of throughout all of them.

they just probably decided later on that they wanted him to be more of a main character
