Ok two things I have been meaning to say about Guardians, and note that I’m trying to complain. First thing i want to say: Now i was keeping my mouth shut, but now it just infuriates me, but why, 343industries, did you guys have to take away LAN play in campaign mode and multiplayer mode? Now I know you guys decided not to add online campaign andI have heard that one reason is because that online campaign causes huge lag. Now I’m not sure if that’s true, but why the heck remove LAN Campaign and LAN Multiplayer? I’m sure there are alot of ppl(if not all) that like to be able to play with friends on one system. Now the second thing: Who’s dumb idea was it that an internet connection was needed for Forge? Never in the history of Halo (since forge was first introduced) did forge require an internet connection! I think these two things are one of many reasons why a lot of ppl hate halo 5.

I know what you mean and I’m not a H5 hater I still like the game, mind you I’ve only ever played the campaign once but here’s a link to a video on why H4 campaign is so bad ( it basically explains H5s campaign as well) and apart from the stuff about promeatheans and some of the level stuff this is why I don’t really like H4 & H5s campaigns some of the multiplayer was Ok. Why is Halo 4's Campaign SO BAD?! And... AWESOME?? (Act Man Review) - YouTube
Find it odd that they would remove it. I remember last gaming convention I went to had H4 but no H5 because it needed the internet instead of LAN so it destroyed any chance of playing a modern Halo game at a convention, that had the internet being heavily used, which meant playing the game was impossible. It’s the same problem with split-screen…not sure why 343i thought this was a good idea to remove either of them since it discourages the idea of people playing with friends at conventions, makes tournaments difficult to set-up.
Right? I think i ruins the whole Halo franchise. They had better change things in Halo 6
I can’t recall why LAN was removed but I do remember reading that “campaign” multiplayer wasn’t offered due to all the back feed back from when Reach offered it.

What feedback was this? I enjoyed playing co-op campaign in matchmaking in Halo Reach

LAN campaign is basically split screen, right? They’re aware a lack thereof pisses the community off, which is why they’ve vowed to bring it back for Halo 6. There’s nothing that can be done for Halo 5 at this point, unfortunately. As far as online campaign goes (which I’m assuming refers to campaign matchmaking), they really need to bring that back. I think they only had it for Reach and most of the missions I played weren’t laggy at all.

Apparently to many players complained of other players just “trolling” them in it. So I guess a lot of gamers didn’t play nice in it.

That’s a shame. But now that you mention it, there were a lot of times when I’d start playing a mission with someone and they’d quit right away…It’s too bad because I had a lot of fun showing easter eggs to random people, especially on New Alexandria
Bonnie Ross confirmed that LAN would be in halo 6.

No. Splitscreen refers to multiple people playing on a single console, and since there is a 1:1 console-to-screen ratio, the screen is “split” so that each player gets an equal part of the screen representing their viewpoint. LAN play generally refers to multiple consoles connected together on a local area network. This network is essentially just consoles communicating with each other directly, and not through the internet. True enough, both of these features are absent in Halo 5, but they are separate things.

Interesting, thank you for the clarification!

Yeah I thought they should have had it especially with the whole “team” based campaign. But it would have been more trouble than it was worth probably. I can see people trolling others especially with the whole revive thing…
Ugh! I am camping and the campground i’m at shares its wifi with everyone staying there which means slow wifi and i have had my halo 5 lose connection to the server making me rebuild my forge map that i didnt save like 3 times in 2 minutes! This is why you dont make forge require an internet connection, 343i! Bungie why did u betray us?!

My friend got an Xbox One S last weekend and me, another friend, and him decided to meet up at his place for some WZ FF. We didn’t have any trouble with lag, granted, I’m assuming you’re talking about far more than 3 people? He does have fast Comcast internet too.
Besides Halo CE back in 2001-2002, I’ve literally never used split screen because I can’t stand how it plays. When it was removed, which I thought would be okay in today’s era, I was like ‘meh, whatever’. Then I saw the backlash and was blown away.
In Halo 6, split screen and Lan will be included. It’s great to see 343 listening and adjusting on the fly.

No, this is why you don’t play Halo while camping. How is this camping anyway?
Yes, these items being absent really hurt Halo 5, and the franchise in many ways. All I can think of is, since Halo 5 was supposed to be the game to help launch XB1, and originally XB1 was going to be “always online” then they made things adhering to that.
I don’t remember a major issue with campaign trolls in Reach, Halo 4, or MCC. So I don’t think that reasoning hold any water.
It has been two years since this game came out. I get that these things suck, but things like this aren’t going to change. We have to move on, and look towards Halo 6. We know that Bonnie Ross said there will be split screen from now on. Maybe they do learn from their mistakes. We shall see.

That, the lousy servers, lousy storyline, and other things certainly make it less desirable…

Well you see, my parents and I are moving out of the house i have lived in for 24 years ever since i was 9 months and we live in NC and we have our camper at a campsite that allows people to stay for however many days, weeks, months, and years that they want that is down in SC which is less than an hour away from our house here in NC and a house that has just been built on our property in VA . My folks were planning to move after they retire in 3 years from now, but something came up and so we now live in our camper in SC at mentioned campground till they retire because their work is too far away from VA and so after they retire, we will be moving to our house in VA.
So I have no choice but to use the campground wifi which sucks cause not only does it cause me to lose connection to halo server, but I like to get on my Laptop and watch my anime or videos on youtube but the campgrounds wifi blocks those sites due to it being video sharing sites. and as for the whole "how is this camping anyway? question, I always take my games with me camping cause in truth i hate camping.
But of course I know the way that Halo 5 is isn’t gonna change and I don’t expect it too. I’m saying that in my opinion, Halo 6 is there last chance to make this franchise into the way that bungie made it or they might as well just quit the franchise all together. Let’s just hope that Halo 6 makes a good impression on us Halo fans.
