I just think that it’s kinda awesome the similarities.
The way I see it, the differences hilariously outweigh the similarities.
-You were not born 499 years into the future
-You did not grow up in a human-colonized system 20 or so light-years away.
-You were not, nor will you, be secretly kidnapped by a top-secret and highly confidential military intelligence organization.
-You were not subject to a preliminary list of candidates for a heavily classified second-generation “Super Soldier” program.
-You are most likely not part of the armed-services, specifically any type, or some form of, naval force with access to orbital bombardment, the deployment of atmospheric and space fighters, etc.

My parents almost named me John.
My hair is a mix of blonde black and brown.
My eyes are hazel.
But I do know that I do have one major hing in common with John. I blew up a bunch of stuff and the owners of that stuff hate me jk.
I also have brown hair and blue eyes, I also have two partially chipped-off teeth, (I think John had one?) but they’re not front teeth though. And I can also imitate the Chief’s voice quite decently.
But this morning I accidentally bumped my knee into the table that my Xbox was on, which ruined the BF3 disc spinning inside, so unfortunately I don’t share his luck. :<
