Something I don't understand

Why did they spend so much time showcasing animals and trees and water and stone walls but not one single alien? I know it’s about showing off the new engine but the fact that they don’t show enemies makes me suspicious that they don’t want to ruin the nostalgia of the old games with Prometheans. Remember, the new covenant was essentially defeated in Halo 5 so there could be a chance we will only fight orange robots. I’m hoping this is because they want to hide a surprise return of the flood.

I don’t really want to speculate, because whatever I (we) start speculating the enemy to be, I’m sure it’ll be over analysed and pulled apart and ruined in the mind’s eye. But you do raise a good point…
Perhaps there are more spin-off factions like The Banished?
There’s evidence that this game is set 2 years after H5 (the HUD in the pelican has a date in it), and a lot could happen in that time.

Probably to keep the suspense the game was Halo until you hear the iconic piano key and see Chief holding his helmet. Once that happens, you really only see Chief driving, which doesn’t give room for covenant enemies to really be shown off. The sense of mystery and bewilderment at the expansive world, and the wonder about what game it is, loses the later payoff when it’s revealed as Halo if you show Covenant.

Perhaps they wanted to show off the engine whilst attempting to have the viewer be uncertain it’s Halo until maybe the Marines, and then a big climax with Chief’s helmet.

To that end, I’m dissapointed that this was more of a teaser than a real trailer.

But what if MC doesnt want to fight anymore? Tending to his rhinos and deer (like a shepard) seems much more relaxing and fulfilling.

Too much of the game is undeveloped and the point isn’t to advertise the game and satisfy our craving for Halo, it was to tease the game and get us excited and riled up with conspiracy theories and discussions about what every last detail means. To that end, it did exactly what was necessary. The climax is better when it has a payoff and a wait associated with it: they’re doing a good job so far of marketing the game and your lack of satisfaction (right now) points to that. We will get a full-blown trailer later in the marketing cycle.

It was a tech demo designed to show that their new engine is capable of, it wasn’t mean to showcase any gameplay or store elements as that stuff is still being worked on. As soon as they a proper teaser / trailer to put out there, there will be some big announcements around that

Then those marines come and bring him back into the UNSC to kill his ex-girlfriend. Brutal m8

was to simply announce the game and show the new engine and show a good idea of it visually nothing more than that tbh I was expecting less

Well, it’s theorized that the game will take place on installation 07, which has a lot of indigenous Earth species on it, so thats why it could be showing all of the animals. Also, this was just an announcement trailer, I don’t really think it is showing much of what will actually be in the game. Also, yes it is just to show off the engine, as you said, so I think that we should just take it as it is.

There are still plenty of other remnants and the banished so I’m sure we’ll fight some kindnof covey species

I’m pretty sure they were just showing off what the Engine was capable of.

Those textures were fantastic.
