hopefully she dies in Season 2 hopefully a 100 suicide grunts attack her. Lol seems cruel. Mabye we get to be commander of fireteam majestic
The continued nonsensical hate continues to amuse me.
If you want to be the Commander and be stuck on the Infinity leading others that’s on you, I want to stay at the front and be the tip of the spear.

Ditto’d.
Every week, it’s “i hope she dies, she should die, i wish she died.”
She isnt going to die, guys (at least not in the foreseeable future), and Chief is sure as Hell not gonna up and murder a fellow spartan over Halsey. That’s not who Chief is. Let it go already.
I don’t know what everyones beef is with Palmer, I kind of like her as a character.
I don’t blame people for wanting bad things to happen to Palmer, she isn’t a very good character. Rude, easily angered and arrogant, she isn’t what a Spartan should be.
She’s too full of herself, rushes into enemy base alone with a pair of magnums in attempt to kill Halsey. Other than that she could’ve died fighting numerous elites and knights if it weren’t for majestic showing up.
I’ll give her this. She’s more interesting then Master Chief. Or Thorne. Or the Didact. Or Lasky. (From what i’ve seen in the game.)

She’s a Spartan. The Commander of the Spartans on Infinity in fact. I’m pretty sure a Spartan should be able to show up somewhere and take out a target.
Noble Six was known to take out large groups practically over night, alone. (From what I recall)
Master Chief was warped into the middle of a Covenant ship, alone, and walked out.
The Rookie was left alone in the middle of a Covenant held city alone, and survived just fine.

Oddly enough, I believe her character’s purpose is to draw in hatred towards her. Think about it. Every Spartan that we’ve had the chance to control has been a Spartan that is unique in the sense that they have followed a mission that is beyond the UNSC’s command and you’re basically this “badass” that’s going lone wolf. Even in Reach as Noble Team, towards the end, you are not a “puppet” to the UNSC as Dr. Halsey suggests, you are a Spartan.
Palmer is, in essence, the poster child of the UNSC. She is disciplined, strict, follows orders to a tee, and sees everything as black and white. While Master Chief and Noble Team were influenced by the gray areas of every situation, Palmer is the kind of soldier that the UNSC wants – ignorant, arrogant, and doesn’t ask questions. Her character is used to show the decline in quality and efficiency of the Spartan Program.
Like Halsey said “First we taught them to be silent, then we taught them to be Spartans.” The Spartans that came before the Spartan IV’s were the most efficient the most deadly. Although indoctrinated since a young age, when it came down to it, they were able to navigate the gray areas of moral judgement and choose the path that they felt was right. Sarah Palmer is the exact opposite of this. She never endured the same brutal trials that the Spartans did, and while she may be disciplined, she is no where close to the kind of disciplined that the Spartan’s before are.

Fantastic points, and to the comparison with the original spartan II’s remember that Halsey had other things in mind when creating them than to simply use them as ordnance. Palmer is exactly that, a corruption of the original intent to evolve the species and in that she represents the ultimate failure of the UNSC to be the instrument that will lead humanity forward. And I hope that with both season 2 and Halo 5 343 delves deeper into this, its great stuff for Halo.

I hate to tell you the Rookie wasn’t a Spartan. He/she was an ODST. No, Palmer is not better than John S-117. Also, these Spartans aren’t from the first groups of Spartans; they are considered the best of the UNSC regular military, so they have that swagger from being chosen to be in the Spartan IV program.

Hey, remember when she ignored the order to arrest Master Chief. And I mean blatantly stood there not listening.
Hey. Remember when Master Chief listened to Guilty Spark, like a ignorant, arrogant tool, and was going to fire the installation without a second thought until Cortana corrected him? He was so set on firing it without even thinking about all it did. Luckily Cortana was there to correct him with the right orders.
Hey. Remember when Noble Team did everything they were ordered to by Halsey. Without knowing what the hell she was working on or why they needed to buy time?
I DO!
All Spartans are tools. People just don’t like Palmer.

So, you mean a ODST, which is less then a Spartan, in training, equipment and augmentation, was able to pull one of these lone missions for a while. Amazing. (Him not being a Spartan was part of the point.)
And can you blame anyone for getting a bit of a Ego when they’re asked to join the Spartans. Soldiers of the tier Master Chief is on? Shielded, extremely powerful suits of armor and probably the highest calibre missions that could be given to soldiers?
I know I would. Especially when i’m not brainwashed from youth to think of it as standard.

No, I would have a huge ego too, but the truth is that is just my point. If I was asked to be in the most elite unit in the galaxy among the like of Master Chief, I would be unbearable.

I don’t mind her dying…As long as we get to see more of that behind of hers at 2:10 before she dies.
> All Spartans are tools. People just don’t like Palmer.
Because she a tool among tools. Look you’re playing a video game. People are going to tell you to do stuff and the devs aren’t going to give you the luxury of a lengthy conversation to determine if that stuff happens to be within your character’s area of comfort, convenience, and general plans for the future.
That said the Chief is relatively independent (remember when he told Delrio to -Yoink- off?) while Palmer isn’t. During that confrontation she was ordered to arrest what is for humanity Jesus 2.0. Small wonder she chose not to but when faced with a more human dilemma she blithely puts all considerations of “the right thing” aside for duty. Laskey didn’t, Noble probably wouldn’t have, Master Chief certainly not. She did, and that’s why people don’t like her (also for her attitude towards of science but that’s complimentary to all this) but that’s not in any way a bad thing. Not every character must or even should be liked since that just gives you one end of humanity’s spectrum to workwith.
I don’t personally mind Palmer. A little unprofessional dealing with anger(that poor holo-table, what did it do to you?), but she’s alright I guess.
Why does everyone want her to die? With the exception of you, Hedronox… you want to check her out then watcher die.
@Duncan: From her perspective, Halsey to her is the war criminal she is branded and a traitor. “The right thing” might not be seen from a person with such a lack of knowledge of her.
