As the community knows (or should know if you don’t), the Locus Helmet was a exclusive helmet to those who played the King of the Hill App or a Preorder Bonus for those outside of U.S.
Now, as much as how I wanted to try and get it, I couldn’t because of how broken said app was, and now that you can’t new codes via the app because it ended on the 1st of the year, people have to resort to ebay.
Now, current listings? There is Only. One. Listing. Available. And here’s the real kicker, costs and I quote, “$97.00”.
See, I wanted this helmet when I first heard of back when the game came out, but gave up on the app, and now trying for it to learn the codes aren’t given out anymore and I’d have to literally rip off my own limbs to just buy one.
So, 343, why not just make it apart of a future DLC pack “CoughtheChampionsDLC”? Or make it a standalone item on the Marketplace? I mean, some people on here must still want the helmet, but have common sense to not get ripped off like that and might have been in the same position I’m in.
Or has this been covered already and it’s just a spec of dust in the wind, never to be seen again? Because this is a seriously problem regarded preorder/exclusive type DLC. I mean, I see certain games at a later point put it up as a separate download on the marketplace, wouldn’t it be nice to do that for this too?

Think about the people that actually own the helmet. I’d be pretty ticked off if I was one of the many people who might’ve paid $20+ for a helmet others got for free nearly a year after the games release.

right this is my problem, i luckily, very luckily got chosen in a give away for a locus helmet and i was so greatful for it and i was trying to get the deadeye helmet cos thats one of my favs along with locus but i didnt get it, but i dont think they should be released, they should stay exclusive, i wish bungie didnt give out the recon armour, and im not too bothered about the flame on H|R but these 2 helmets should stay exclusive until the end of the world!!
like someone else said also if people bought it then they will be super peed off and i wouldnt blame em tbh!!
and i know you really want the helmet, i did and i still really want the dead eye helmet but i still think they should stay exclusive, makes it more special when you see someone with it!!

It’s the principle. People who won it, earned it, or bought it would feel cheated for getting something exclusive only to have it taken from them by everyone Cough Recon! Cough And makes people upset. What would you think if EVERYONE got FOTUS? All the console buyers would be rather displeased.

yeah and that armour, sorry i forgot it, probs cos i despise it but i know some people like it and id understand them getting annoyed if it was released to everyone, i had recon before most people cos i had something put on bungie favs and got it like a year before Halo each was released and when it was released i was pretty peed not gonna lie not cos everyone got it but because it wasnt special then, it got annoying but when i played i kept getting people message me asking where and how i got recon but now everyone has it and its the same with locus, not so much odviously cos recon was so rare i guess but its still the same, itll make locus, deadeye and fotus absolutely boring and everyone will use them!!

sort of but that was available to everyone anyway, i see the three armours in H4 more like recon cos theres only certain ways to get it and there gone now, recon there was always a slim chance of getting it but was still very very very exclusive like the 3 armours but concept is the same, i always use my locus and i know that everyone who has one of the helmets uses it and everyone will if they release them not that i dont want people to be happy bt i like exclusive armour, dunno why but makes it special when you finally see it!!
I know how you feel, I have LOCUS and Deadeye as well as PULSE WEB FOREST and all those, and I love wearing my FOTUS and LOCUS cause it makes me feel special being the only one in a game with it. It’s a good feeling but if they were to be released… There goes the special exclusive feeling

exactly and im not saying i dont want people to have it just cos i have it and you know i want to be special cos i only have locus and id love deadeye but i just dont want that feeling to go, when i see someone with deadeye i jsut feel how much i want it and i know its the same with other people when they see locus, deadeye and some people with fotus so yeah i think they should stay exclusive, the other skins (i have forest) im not too worried about cos i dunno i dont think of them as special armours and there not so much distinguishable but armour definatly!!
even though i am a completionist (especially with H3) and id love the other pre-order skins for H4 but you know they should stay exclusive otherwise whats the point? in future people wont care cos we know theyll come out eventually anyway i think thats why recon on H3 was and always will be the most sacred armour cos no one at the time knew if we would all get it or not and it was so exclusive that if you were in a game with one then you would all follow that person around just to get a look, i remember before i got it i was in a match with one and took a photo and was just drooling over it, i wanted it so badly and was amazed when i was in the lobby with him/ her!!

I get people like that alot too recently. Especially with my FOTUS or Deadeye people want a look at it, and it feels really special to be admired in game as they look it over. With RECON it was the same thing. People follow you and are always messaging you asking “Where’d you get it? How?” And same with REACH and the Blue and Normal Fire. People follow me and ask where I got it and how… It feels really cool

You got a good deal, I got all the DLC for $50. My fiancee bought it for me. Best birthday gift for a Halo fan ever. Christmas I’m getting the series 2 McFarlane toys.
And if 343i set the precedent that all pre-order exclusives would be made available for everyone, I guarantee you that much fewer people would pre-order the next game, anticipating that all exclusives would be made available eventually.
Now, making the helmet available for everyone when the game reaches its end-of-life, I don’t have a problem with–I loaded up Halo 3 the other day and noticed I had Recon. I’m sure no one who earned it the hard way back in the day cares because they’re all playing Halo: Reach or Halo 4.

Most people used it due to how hard it was to get it.
not that i dont want people to be happy bt i like exclusive armour, dunno why but makes it special when you finally see it!!
