In the episode 3 cutscene. Halsey stated that something in the planet is studying them. Is is Jul Madam or a forerunner still alive?
I’m thinking that either it’s Jul or something artificial.

Indeed, Offensive Bias’s fate is left rather unknown, where as mendicant was broken into fragments that we met in halo 3’s terminal.

It’s probably of Forerunner origin. Because whatever it is, it’s studying Infinity Forerunner technology thousands of miles away from Jul location.

I doubt it would be offensive bias as he was constructed for one thing the destruction of mendichant bias and once that was complete he was of no need no more.
The didacts were abouts are in the sky the moment as to whether he is alive or not, but he’s more of a soldier then a technician so he would surely if alive just blast infinity then watch whats its doing.
Jul aint so smart either and how would he have access to forerunner technology as only humans are reclaimers and can get access.
So that then leads it to be a new A.I or system on requim

It is Cortana. First the Infinity is the most advanced Ship in the fleet. Second , it was commissioned after Cortana and Chief left , she has no knowledge of it , at least not as much as she wants.
I believe Cortana is an uncaged AI , “most of me is down there” I believe is a clue as to what actually happened. She couldn’t leave because she could no longer be contained by the limited Tech used to create her. She now has the resources of an inorganic planet made by the most advanced Species we know of , and last I saw she seemed very unhappy with most of Humanity for their treatment of John and herself.
I would say the Ancient Evil we awakened was a super powerful AI of which we have no control over. (Mendicant Bias was a super powerful AI unhappy with his creators and under no ones control).

How can Cortana be the Ancient Evil if she is only 8 years old? I vote for the Primordial or a Precursor.
