Im not sure what it is but something about this trailer doesnt seem very Halo to me. Before i get hater as usual telling me i just want to bring halo down, i am buying the limited edition and love halo to feaking death and i find the multiplayer just fresh and halo.
BUT this new trailer bothers me. In every halo we never saw Master Chief running around shooting up covenant like that. Its like they arent even a threat. They’re just that easy to kill. Even in Reach when you saw noble team they never did that and when they did it was pretty bad -Yoink-. Because the covenants and more specifically the elites were such a threat. In all honesty this trailer looked a bit broish douchey to me. I always thought spartans were supposed to be collected, tactical, and bad -Yoink-. Not all willy nilly running and gunning. Not to harp on halo 2 but remember on that mission after delta halo where you get off the gondola and see all those dead elites, grunts, and jackals or you master chief spots the prohet of mercy and just says “your pal… where’s he going?” And just removes the flood infection form from his face. And one of my favorites when you finish off the scarab and just walk away. That was so bad -Yoink-!!! But not douchey. Or even Halo 4’s badass moment when master chief owns that elite and steps right over him. Thats what i need! Along with some awesome freaking music thats what made halo’s campaign what it was! And the replayability of all 3 and maybe 4 games too!! Oh and i have to include reach as well.
But anyway i hope thats just how Osiris interacts wirh each other. I understand they are spartan IV’s and stuff, even though Buck is still a kick -Yoink- leader and should be the leader, but maybe less idk… generic and douchey. I have hopes for the core gameplay as 343i says there will be multiple paths we can take and multiple ways to play so im excited. But i hope master chief will remain the same GREEN, BADASS, QUITE, GUNSLINGING, DETERMINED, SMART, TOUGH, and ALIVE hero we all look up to. The blue team thing is cool, but im so used to master chief going lone wolf. Idk i want to see what 343i does with it, but in all honesty im not so confident if master chief is speaking too much, or with a team besides cortana. Well that’s just me. Would love to hear how im wrong so go halo waypoint!
I’m sorry but Osiris running down a mountain side killing an army of covenant somehow was douchey? i can’t even right now.
Some one has never read any of the novels
Don’t be hatin’ just because Osiris was falling with style.
Well in the extended universe Master Chief and all Spartan 2’S did this all the time. It’s not like there making the Spartan 2’s not badass it’s just now there adding in elements of the lore. Believe me when you see Cheif and Blue Team, Fire team Osiris will reconsider how they approach Blue Team.
You’re gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I completely understand what you’re saying. The trailer was awesome, but if Spartans can just take out entire armies while running and gunning like that, then how the hell was the Covenant ever a threat to humanity? And the Forerunner troops that were there were also pushovers. They’re supposed to be advanced killing machines and the Elites are supposed to be fierce, competent warriors. Seeing the Spartans tear through the opposition like that was cool, but just seemed really off and makes the enemies look like push overs and not really a threat to anyone.
I stopped at “doesn’t seem very halo to me”
This is getting very old very fast

Do you read the novels? The Spartan III’s took on platoons of covenant… Bare handed. All of the fans screaming foul need to sit down and learn more about the universe they enjoy so much from day one Chief was punching missiles.

Yeah this was like, “just another day in the life of a Spartan - no biggie or anything…” as far as the books were concerned.

Gets me every time it really does. Op then goes on to say “When chief did it it was badass and tactical and not douchey” its very hard to take these threads seriously.

I remember in The Fall of Reach Master Chief struggled with an Elite over a plasma pistol. And I know in another (forgot which) he nearly gets killed fighting a Brute. I get that Spartans are capable of incredible physical feats, but as cool as it was, that trailer seemed a little over the top.
And Master Chief punched that missile because Cortana helped him with the timing.

They were caught completely off guard by one of the most elite Spartan IV teams around who dropped down behind enemy lines and began sprinting through their positions before they could even think.
What did you honestly expect would happen?
I am assuming that by the time the mission starts they are starting to figure out what is happening and will coordinate themselves against Osiris.
The Covenant are still a threat to humanity because Osiris are not your average Spartan IV’s, which is why they are tasked with hunting down Blue Team.

Well there were only about 30 ish Spartan 2s and the Covanet have at the time signifint better ships plus they didn’t occupy worlds they glassed them. So it didn’t even matter if we killed the entire Covanet army there Navy would destroy the entire planet.

Sorry I can’t spell right now
I agree. People always bring up the feats Spartans do in the EU, but this and the Locke trailer put so much emphasis on the feats to the point of ridiculousness, and it makes it difficult to believe the Covenant nearly wiped out Humanity when we had hundreds of these guys coming at them by the middle of the war.
Spartans are mass-produced now; if only four can lay waste to two armies, then this should be the easiest war in the history of man.

I think that was the point. To the casual observer who’s just looking for eye candy, it just looked pretty cool. To someone who keeps up with the series and understands that these guys are basically hunting the remaining Spartan IIs, it sets the tone for just how dangerous Osiris is going to be in that regard.

That Elite was 10ft+ tall and big as hell. It was there to create tension, also they were fighting in zero gravity.
Try moving, let alone fighting in zero gravity. It’s really -Yoinking!- hard.

Chief has survived reentry onto the planet earth and the Artificial stomping grounds of Requiem not a single eye batted. Will defeated a hunter with his fist’s Linda sniped banshee pilots through the cracks of the vehicles armor while hanging upside down. Chief has also single handedly mowed through hundred and thousands of covenant soldiers in game, and of course not all of this can be taken as is represented in game, as canon does not=gameplay but some facts can not be refuted. This soldier on his own defeated the ancient alien threat known as the flood and their hordes of dead marines elites and brutes alike. Chief’s feats in the novel’s easily outweigh the few times he was shown to be out matched or challenged.

Yea except for the fact that the UNSC is still out matched in the naval warfare aspect of the war… You know the same war where hundreds of human occupied planets were glassed from orbit with spartan’s occasionally on them?
