I dont see how they could all fit on a disc, which apparently somehow they are.
Spartan Ops is already on the disk. Along with all the missions. But. They will be made available on a weekly basis. So, they’re all finished. But a new one will unlock each week.

thats ALOT of data to fit on a disc, especially if you are doing it for over a year.
this is probably the most -Yoink- thing I have ever heard, you think they make 5 missions a week? they are already done they just release them weekly - oh man only 1 thing to say
oh dear…

Do you have any idea how much data that takes on a disc if you are doing it for an extended period of time, especially since they already have campaign and MP to put on it?
and if they were already on the disc, why not just let the player do them whenever?
> and if they were already on the disc, why not just let the player do them whenever?
Well, because this will allow them to work on other missions to keep it at a steady flow, instead of running out of them and then having nothing for a while
> if they were already on the disc, why not just let the player do them whenever?
The new gimmick of today’s gaming, much like on-disc DLC. They are artificially trying to lenghten games and keep people playing. High player counts = Better reputation and more chance to have people buy the game and buy other DLC.
I wonder that if the missions really are on the disc and there are as much as they imply, what does that mean to the other material: Campaign length and number of multiplayer maps?
EDIT: Also a lot like Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer. Nothing stopped them from making us able to improve readiness through single player but they decided to make us play multiplayer.
I agree. it makes me wonder if theres a campaign or MP at all
maybe theres a second disc.
They’ve probably already finished certain parts of it, for instance maybe all the textures are on the disk. I don’t think all the data is on disk, as lot’s of people have stated that’s a lot of data, but I’m sure they’ve planned it all out very well and have lot’s of the components finished already, it’s probably just finishing touches and putting it together.
Its already on the disc, you unlock it weekly though. How? I don’t know.

oh yesh ser thats definateli wat it is.
They said they wanted to make it episodic, so that players could regularly converse about a campaign, canon, and story driven experience. Also they are trying to get people that just play campaign to try some multiplayer. If they let us play them whenever, it would die as soon as the campaign did. They make them weekly so that there will be something new and something to look forward to. Most people that keep up with Spartan Ops will probably be strong fans already, which have pre-ordered, and will probably be getting three of your DLCs for free. Those that aren’t already strong fans which stay for SO will not be in large enough numbers for a difference. And its free. You people just think all they care about is money. You forget that 343 exists because Halo exists.
I personally don’t think it will all be on the disk, it will need to be downloaded in some way shape or form for free, I’m not exactly a fan of having two disks.

I honestly wouldn’t mind having two discs, but I agree on the fact that I don’t believe it will all be on the disc at launch. The only problem with having to download the new content every week is that people without a large hard drive wouldn’t be able to play the missions, which isn’t fair
