So, I cut my teeth on Halo 3 and Halo:Reach, and one of the things I really loved was the art and style of humans and their buildings. It really bugged me with Halo 4 and 5 art style of the buildings. I mean in H3 and H:R most buildings were some sort of concrete and a very utilitarian style, the base from Sierra 117 and the farm house from the first mission of Reach come to mind. But in the last two games the buildings and structures have metalic-plastic feel, (almost to a Mass Effect level) and it seems to be inconsistent with the previous titles and descriptions from the books. Then a thought hit me, that these buildings in H4 and H5:G are pre-fabricated, meaning the panels are made before being set up and have the unique ability of being able to be moved and reconfigured to suit the environment and the purpose of the buildings. These are not permanent structures like the ones from before, in fact we are not fighting on UNSC soil, but rather colonies and previously undiscovered locations. So pre-fab buildings make sense, just like the “tents” in Halo: The Flood. So my guess is that all Warships as well as Colony ships carry enough pre-fab panels and floors to set-up a base of operations and “towns”, Like Galellio Base and Meridian Station respectively. I also assume that this applies to other aspects of the Halo Universe as it is, such as current Marine BDUs and Armor. I am assuming that the Marines we see regularly(the ones with kevlar vests and bulky helmets) are just wearing their “under armor” and that actual hard armor is fit over top when going into battle. I could elaborate on that further but the post is long as it is and my main focus was the building styles. Thanks for reading, and leave your thoughts below!
