I think 343 should reward players who buy map packs the same way Epic games does, which is giving dedicated servers to those who have the map packs. I am not sure if it would be reality, but it would and does encourage both buying the map packs as well as reward with better connection (usually).

They don’t have for all playlists… I played with my friend without MP and it is not on a dedicated playlist. Maybe now because not many people play GOW3 anymore.
not only are you penalizing/alienating anyone who didnt buy the dlc (which is a lot of people) you`re also forcing players to spend money just to have a lag-free game.
Gears of War has some really great ideas (horde ring a bell?) that I think could easily benefit halo aswell as many other shooters, however the idea of dedicated servers being given to people who purchased dlc ONLY is just flat-out wrong.
now if you were to give people an option in which they could buy dedicated servers for lets say 10 bucks then I might say ok.
I never got into the GOW community… Always more of a secondary game for me. But yes, horde is GREAT.
I am just saying if 343i did introduce dedicated servers I would not be surprised if they used it as an incentive to buy DLC as Epic did. Not sure about buying dedicated servers either

The GOW community “hated” the servers because many of them don’t understand the purpose of them. They don’t decrease lag or improve connection. They only eliminate the host advantage. That’s it.
Also, all playlists are on the servers, and there is a specific gametype (Action Sack, basically) for people without DLC. However, because of inherently limited server capacity, you’re not guaranteed to always get a server game. What’s more, Ranked games take priority over Social games.
Personally, I was surprised 343 didn’t include dedicated servers from the start. Halo kind of needs them.
