Someone remind me...

When did this game turn gold again?

Am I really the only one to see how wrong it is to announce NINE DLC MAPS available for purchase at release alongside the limited edition?

Does this make Standard Edition only a 60-70% complete game come launch?

Hope this isn’t another ‘Locked content on disc’ situation…
Also, the rest of the described content seems rather topical and with points of negative interest I have yet to see brought up.

For now though, I’d like to see what you think of the matter and hopefully get some answers.

Buy the Limited Edition and you won’t have any problems then will you?

If I understood correctly, you will get a season pass type code which will allow the DLC maps to be free in the future.

It is very unlikely that three map packs would be released on launch.

I think it said, “9 new maps in 3 FUTUREmap packs.” I think that’s what it said.

> I think it said, “9 new maps in 3 FUTUREmap packs.” I think that’s what it said.

Probably still not enough emphasis for the other forum-goers… They will rage, prepare for the storm…

Eh, Halo 2 has nine extra maps, Halo 3 even has four map packs and Halo Reach has three… So what’s wrong?

Btw; I hope you understand that they won’t come out on the release date. They will come out whenever they make them. But Limited Edition users will get them for free, while the others have to pay for it.

I’m ready…

Why doesn’t waypoint have a 100 type size?

It’d be similar to what CoD is doing now. When the mappacks are released on xbox marketplace, you’ll have the maps already paid for. They wouldn’t release every map on day one. They probably don’t even have those mappacks designed yet.

Umm… what? They didn’t say “We have 3 map packs ready to go” they said “You’ll get the 3 map packs when they come out for free”.

> Umm… what? They didn’t say “We have 3 map packs ready to go” they said “You’ll get the 3 map packs when they come out for free”.

FREE if you get the LE, so you already pay for game + $20-30 map packs + all the other goodies.

OK, OK, I get it now.
I don’t exactly hold appreciation for how forward and direct they are with their announcements though; ‘New Trilogy!’, ‘Ancient Evil! rawwwr!’, ‘DLC!’, ‘Head-start over other players!’.

It’s making me nervous, because Reach only had nine maps. It makes me wonder just how many maps Halo 4 will actually have.

> Buy the Limited Edition and you won’t have any problems then will you?

So people who buy the standard edition - people who STILL spent money on the game, aren’t good enough?

Since you want to put words in my mouth, fine. Yes.

People who totally buy the Halo 4 standard edition are not important in the slightest.

Free maps for the future? What would normally cost 19.99 a map pack? Well, doing some quick math:

$15 * 3 = $45.
$20 * 3 = $60.

59.99 - 99.99 = $40. Either way, looks like I’ll be getting L.E. as I’m sure the DLC later on is going to be 1200 msp. If it isn’t? I still saved some money.

Yeah the maps won’t be coming out on release… But I hopethey haven’t started putting significant effort towards designing and creating DLC already. Otherwise I will be worried because as 343 will no doubt know, the main game is the focus before release, not DLC.

9 new maps though- Yay!

While I’m worried about the quality and quantity of maps shipping with Halo 4 now, the future DLC thing isn’t too bothersome.

Its basically the Season Pass from Gears 3, which turned out pretty well.
