why does halo not have equipment items from halo 3? ESPECIALLY in the warzone sandbox. just thinking about uses for trap mines, grav lifts, bubble sheilds, radar jam, i mean so many uses. the flair?? implementing what those items did into req weapons. a sword/hammer that has a brief period of blinding light usable, or invulnerability for brief periods of time. i mean theres just so much entertainment and shenanigans to occur where in the world did they go and why has it taken me a YEAR to realize such a great idea is MISSING from the halo 5 sandbox… ugh id love to see someone whip out a grav lift and jack a wasp from someone. id be able to die happy.
Agreed. This was an amazing ability from halo 3 that I wish would return. While I myself was very bad at using equipment back in the day, it was always so amazing to see other players use them as easily and as efficiently as pulling a trigger.
That’s a good point they would do well in warzone, and this is something 343 could easily implement in a future update. That being said I doubt that it would happen.
I think it’s because:
A) 343 doesn’t want to add them
B) There isn’t really a button that would allow you to use them, at least, not one that will make it convenient.
I think 343 has made it pretty clear that they want their Halo games to be in their own image, so they try to limit having similar things to the older games. That being said, i agree that it’d be cool to have these in Warzone, not arena, but Warzone.
What they should do is add the reach equipment then have be equipped like a armor ability and have it replace the spartan charge when equipped.

D-Pad? I don’t think it’s fully utilized. Correct me if I’m wrong.

D-pad down is currently available, but I personally don’t think it will be very convenient for use. Seems kind of awkward to use if you ask me.

Oh well that have certainly made HALO their own. It’s undeniable they have put their stamp, or rather stamped on HALO. In an effort to distinguish themselves they have damaged the canon and fractured that which they were given to safeguard. “We will make it our own by going off in this direction” never works out for the best.

Maybe down on the D pad?

Reach didn’t have equipment, only Halo 3 had them.
if they had , for instance, a sniper that had a bubble sheild. That would be cool, but I think adding them in is not very practical
From my experience, it was hard to tell just exactly what you’d just picked in the middle of combat. The small schematics supposedly telling you the nature of the equipment needed to be more easily recognizable. With Halo moving to a faster and more nervous gameplay with a lot of different moves possible (ground pound, Spartan charge, etc.), I think adding Halo 3 style equipment into the lot would make for something of an information overload, and each fraction of a second counts during an encounter. You don’t want to spend any time trying to figure out whether whatever equipment you just picked will help your situation. Moreover, some items such as the lift are made useless by new game mechanics (in this case, the clambering ability).

At least somebody realised it. I called it out on someone’s thread long time ago. But anyhow, this is a huge downgrade halo 5 made. Also they removed the grenade signal.

These things from halo 3 would be terrible, sorry it’s true. They were heavily unbalanced in halo 3 and that would carry over. Also many of them didn’t have much of any use.

warzone isnt about balance. its about the sandbox.
and you cant just say “oh its unbalanced” because that goes into map placement and where/what else is on the map. you have ZERO argument with your statement. not to mention with the spartan abilities they lose viability. the power drain could prevent sprint/spartan dash/ thrusters/ and stablizers and slowly decrease shields instead of just instant loss of shields. theres so much you can do to balance them. just saying “oh it would be terrible” get out of here with your negativity.

It’s not negative, you only read it as such. I applied my own opinion on the matter. When I said they were imbalanced, because they were, I meant in comparison to each other in the game. They could obviously be balanced but I can’t see them making a return to the new Halos. Plus to me you seemed pretty negative towards me, just that’s how I read it lol

Not fact, that is an opinion which that is the fact. You seem to be rather bias in this, try being open to both sides only being swayed by people who bring evidence rather than pure opinions.

It had the abilities like jet pack and sprint (I refer to them as equipment).
