I and 3 other unranked randoms and a silver just got matched against 3 onyxes and a champion who were in a party.
we lost 7 -50 after 2 guys left.
why is this a thing?
Game history shows it was Onyx/Gold 6/unranked/Diamond 6 against Diamond 2/Plat 2 (you)/Plat 2/Onyx. I agree with your point though. I’m Plat in team arena and regularly get matched with Diamond and Onyx. Are there not enough Platinums for us to get a full lobby of the same rank? It gets frustrating sometimes.
Damn, you guys got mopped. The reason for the unbalanced matchmaking is because the enemy team had two smurf accounts.

Dramatic effect. I was really QQ. And i ranked that particular match. Whats the point of ranks if we get matched against these people who devote their time to playing this game so much.

That’s insane. Hope you bookmarked that match! It might be a good way to get some tips from a pro’s perspective in theater! Also put it online, it’ll give us all a chance to view their skills and learn!
