Just finished doing the campaign on legendary and saw the ending of just the halo floating mid orbit and the humming sound. Can anyone explain it to me a bit better? Thanks.

Not just A Halo ring… she has complete control over the domain which means in theory she should be able to activate each and every halo ring in existance thus causing a total universal reset

The domain is the Precursor internet.
Janus key was dealt with in the comics.

Think of the domain as the real control center for everything Forerunner. Its a universal network essentially. And as for the Janus Key…thats the final piece of the puzzle. My feeling is they have to use the key now to find where Cortana is and how to stop her. Because the Key shows the location of EVERYTHING Forerunner even the location of the domain

Wow, that seems like an oversight. The means she probably would consider using the halo array then… meaning we would have something like 3 days to destroy the ring before it shot off, correct? Would the ring caretaker not be able to stop the firing?

There are many questions that need answering that is for sure…My feeling is she will activate the rings and only save those who are loyal to her by moving them to shield worlds but this is all merely speculation
That Halo is just an example of the fact that cortana can find and control fourunner tech.She might try to activate that ring and Chief and Locke will have to stop her

I think you’re right.
My personal opinion is that Cortana has now taken up the role of Mendicant Bias and history is repeating itself. She will light the rings… or try to that is. I am fairly certain this means the Flood are involved. Since they corrupted the Domain and Cortana so obviously has the logic plague I am fairly sure we see them in H6. As stated in Halo:Cryptum - it is humanity being tested at moment.
I’m under the assumption that she’ll threaten the Galaxy with the activation of the Halo array should she start losing the upcoming war.
Which would give us a Master Chief played level on having to assault the control room. Which would be awesome. #Nostalgia

I can not wait for this in the upcoming Halo games.
Probably Installation 07 or Zeta Halo. Remember, Cortana has the Index from Installation 04. If an Index from another Halo can activate another ring, then Cortana has the power to activate the Halo ring that we saw in the legendary ending.
